Season 1 Summaries

A summary of each episode for season 1 will be posted here. Season 1 is Aincrad.

Episode 1

Kirito logs into a game with his nerve gear called Sword Art online and meets a guy named Klein. Later, he discovers that he cannot log out nor his friend and is informed by the GM Kaiyaba that the game was designed to be a world where he could trap people in and control. Realizing that he must clear all 100 levels of Aincrad the world he is trapped in and survive without letting his health drop to 0 to save his life, he heads for the next town after being in the town of beginnings.

Episode 2

Kirito and his new friend Asuna took on the level 1 boss and was called a Beater for it because he knew the moves the boss was going to make and let someone die because of it. He is worse than a beta tester in the players' eyes. Save for Asuna and Klein.

Episode 3

Joining a guild, Kirito hides his true level and then because most of the guild and him took on a monster house, most of the guild died save for Kirito. The leader ended up committing suicide, thus the moonlit black cats guild had been disbanded due to death. Kirito was sad about this because he liked a girl in the guild named Sachi and he felt like he broke a promise to her and wept about it.

Episode 4

Kirito makes another new friend. This time its a woman named Silica who had just lost her precious pet and Kirito helps Silica find the item to revive said pet and at the same time, deal with a few player killers.

Episode 5

Kirito is being scolded by Asuna for being lazy until she takes a nap. Then, after a meal together, they discover someone has been killed and now there is a murder mystery on Kirito's hands.

Episode 6

Kirito figures out the mystery just in time and finds that there were no real murders and that there were, however, still more player killers in the game in a guild called the Laughing Coffin.

Episode 7

In order to make a better sword, Kirito checks out Lisbeth's blacksmith shop where he breaks Liz's best sword. But then, he and Liz find themselves in a dragon's nest where they find the material needed to craft an even better sword. Who knew that dragon poop could be so useful?

Episode 8

Asuna decides to take a day off from the guild and Kirito duels some loser who insists on being a stalker. Having won the duel, Kirito takes Asuna to a dungeon and together they find the boss Gleam eyes.

Episode 9

Encountering some army guys who were reckless and tried taking on the boss without thinking, Kirito and Asuna rush into the boss room to help. Then, after a little bit, Kirito reveals that he has the dual wielding skill and that he can beat the boss with just an inch of his life left. This scared Asuna so much that she told him that she didn't know what she would do without him. Then the Knights of the Blood oath commander had suggested to Kirito that they have a duel. If Kirito wins, Asuna is his and she may leave the guild if she wants, however, if the commander wins, then Kirito must join the guild. Unaware to Kirito, the commander is actually Kaiyaba.

Episode 10

In the duel between Kirito and Kiyaba, Kiyaba wins, so therefore Kirito must join the knights of the blood oath. On his first mission with the guild, he runs into someone from the laughing coffin and it was thanks to Asuna that Kirito is still alive. It was after this moment that Kirito proposed to Asuna in Aincrad.

Episode 11

While walking through the woods, Kirito and Asuna meet Yui, who is a little girl that is from SAO, but is neither a player or an NPC. She is special. She calls Kirito daddy and Asuna mommy.

Episode 12

The army asks for Kirito and Asuna's help, but as a result of their help, Yui was deleted as she found out that she was an AI and she defied the system directive.

Episode 13

After a two week honeymoon, Kirito and Asuna were reported back to the front lines where they face the skull reaper, which is a scorpion skeleton boss with a wicked attack.

Episode 14

Kirito beats the game and wakes up in the hospital and reveals his real name is Kazuto. He then wanders down the hall in search of his love Asuna Yuki.
