If your avatar was on Nickelodeon Guts, which team would your avatar be on in the Extreme Arena? Blue, Purple or Red.
And which Medal would your avatar win on the television show? Bronze, Silver or Gold?
For those unfamiliar with Nickelodeon Guts, its a Sports Themed Game Show from 1992 to 1996, as the Original & International version known as Global Guts. In 2008, a third version called "My Family's got Guts" aired until 2009.
This show lets players live out their sports fantasies.
Players compete for the High score in 4 different events. Explaining all of the events' rules would take too long but the scoring was simple for each of the 4 Events: 1st Place = 300 Points 2nd Place = 200 Points 3rd Place = 100 Points
The Points skyrocket by the time of the final event, which is the Aggro Crag climb. The player with the Highest Score at the end of the show, wins the Gold Medal and gets to take home a Glowing Piece of the Aggro Crag as a Trophy. During the show, the players have a professional stunt staff & wear protective safety equipment at all times as each event is designed with the players' safety, which coins the phrase: "Do not try this at home."
One of the rules that I remember was the Final Event, the Aggro Crag: Players start after the referee's whistle is blown. Each player has his or her designated path that the player must take (Blue Path = Blue Team, Purple Path = Purple Team & Red Path = Red Team) & may NOT under any circumstances, disturb another player's progress or cross into another player's path. During the player's climb, they must light 8 Signal Light Activators shown on their side of the path. The first player to light all 8 Signal Lights Activators including Final Signal Light Activator at the mountain's peak wins the event in First Place. The Scoring for the Final Event went like this: Final 1st Place = 725 Points Final 2nd Place = 550 Points Final 3rd Place = 375 Points
Later versions of the Aggro Crag such as the Mega Crag & Super Aggro Crag had an increase in difficulty as the colors of the path sometimes go on & off, making it Harder for the players to see which path they need to take and must be careful NOT to leave their side of the path. So the players have to remember which path is theirs. With the Aggro Crag being the Easiest of the 3 as all 3 colors are shown, the Mega Crag presenting a Normal Challenge as the color of the player's path is hidden during the event & the Super Aggro Crag being the Hardest with the color of the player's path being active and inactive.

Describing the Extreme Arena which is where Nick GUTS is set on is complicated. As it uses 5 Miles of Wood, 400 Gallons of Paint, 25,000 Feet of Cables, 330,000 Watts of electricity which takes 150 people & 6 weeks to build it in the largest Soundstage at the Nickelodeon Studios Attraction in the Universal Studios Theme Park at Orlando, Florida.
The Arena's pool holds 21,000 Gallons of Water, the events use 18,000 feet of elastic cords, an audience of 1,200 people to watch GUTS live & The Crags stand at 30 Feet Tall.

The Sphinxy AnimusHelixRebirth Nickelodeon GUTS has a Tournament of Champions called GUTS All Stars which is longer being 7 Events Long instead of 4 Events. The Winner of the GUTS All Stars Tournament gets not only the Gold Medal but also takes home the Nickelodeon GUTS Champion 1993 All Stars Trophy and a $2,500 Prize. Nickelodeon GUTS Glowing Crag Trophy (Super Nintendo): Nickelodeon GUTS Glowing Crag Trophy: Nickelodeon GUTS All Stars Tournament of Champions 1993 Trophy That's neat.
For Nickelodeon GUTS, the GUTS Tryouts were held at the Paramount Theme Parks & NBA All-Star Games back in the day to put together GUTS Team USA for Global GUTS.

Nickelodeon GUTS has a series of Events ranging from Elastic/Aerial, Gym, Track, Field, Poolside, Ski Slope & Mountain throughout several series including the Original, Mega Crag & Global GUTS.
There's 21 Elastic Aerial Events, 2 Gym Events, 6 Track Events, 9 Pool Events, 7 Field Events, 3 Ski Slope Events & 3 Crag Mountain Events on Nickelodeon GUTS, both Classic & Global Versions, which gives it a total of Different 51 Events across on that show's airings. Only 4 of those Events are chosen along with 1 Mountain Crag Event to be featured on an Episode of Nickelodeon GUTS.
There's also "Perfect Scoring" that is rare when it happens during the Regular Games: 3rd Place Perfect Scoring = 775 Points 2nd Place Perfect Scoring = 1,350 Points 1st Place Perfect Scoring = 1,925 Points
There's also "Perfect Scoring" that is rare when it happens during the Tournament of Champions: 3rd Place Perfect Scoring = 1,025 Points 2nd Place Perfect Scoring = 1,950 Points 1st Place Perfect Scoring = 2,825 Points
Between events, there's a segment that's called "Spill Your GUTS" which introduces a player in 3 different points. Starting with the Blue Player, the Red Player second & Purple Player last. There's 4 Versions of this segment: 1. The Host briefs us on the player's interests and hobbies, as well as their accomplishments and also reveals a fun fact about them. 2. The Referee briefs us on the player's interests and hobbies, as well as their accomplishments and ends each segment by mentioning what they think having GUTS equals to them. 3. The Player introduces themselves and reveals their interests, hobbies, accomplishments, why they're excited to be on the show and/or usually also gives a shout-out to their friends and family back home. 4. The Player reveals their athletic interests, followed by them performing a sport, then has them discussing a hobby, accomplishment, what makes a good athlete or showing a good luck charm and the segment ends with them either explaining their strategy to win, what they like about Global GUTS or even what they want to be when they're older.
Here is a list of all the known events that are shown in Nickelodeon GUTS: = Elastic/Aerial Bulls Eye Slam Dunk Over The Top Spirals Make Your Mark Spike It The Longest Yard Off The Wall Jump Jump Rebound Jump Ball Attack Shoot Out Slam-A-Jama Double Play Dodge It Zero G Touchdown Peak To Peak Triple Jump Skyfall
= Gym Basic Training Extreme Basketball
= Track Moon Race Wild Wheels Eat My Dust Blade Runner Tornado Run Mad Max
= Poolside Boogie Down White Water Totally Tubular Splash Down Invisible Boat Wave Runner Hang Ten Power Ski Skurfin' Safari
= Field Free Kick Aces Wild Pitch Fumble Slap Shot Rugby Blast It
= Ski Slope Vertiboggan The Edge Spin Out
= Mountain Aggro Crag Mega Crag Super Aggro Crag
And the Rules for each event: Nickelodeon GUTS Events List
Here's some of the example of the rules shown: = Slam Dunk All Players compete at the same time in which they grab a basketball then must jump off the Aerial Bridge and toward the Basketball Hoop. The goal is to shoot as many baskets as possible & a score will only count AFTER a player has touched the ground before bouncing back up. = Basic Training All Players in this event compete one at a time who are timed from Start to Finish. Each player must complete each Obstacle Segment in Basic Training before moving on to the next Segment. The Player who with the Fastest Time wins the event. = Jump Jump Each Player must jump off the Aerial Bridge's Starting Point then over the 2 hurdles to each the other side of the Goal Aerial Bridge to touch the rail post, then must jump over the 2 hurdles again to return to the Starting Point & touch the rail post to end the event. A Time Penalty (+5 Seconds) will be imposed should any hurdles are knocked down.
Season 1 of GUTS, the Aggro Crag was used as the Final Event. Season 2 & 3 switched between the Aggro Crag & Mega Crag in the Final Event. Season 4 was the Global GUTS Tournament which used the Super Aggro Crag. One thing to mention during the Crag event, is that if the Final Activator is lit before the other 7 Activators are lit, it would result in an automatic 3rd Place Finish. In an attempt to prevent this from occurring, the Stunt Spotters at the peek of the Crags would issue a warning notification to the players stating that they missed at least 1 or 2 activators in which the players must go back to find them and activate them until all 7 are activated before the 8th one on the peek can be activated.
Nickelodeon GUTS had 2 different Show Openings depending on what Crag Mountain was used.
Global GUTS had a Tournament Show Opening with this line: "They come from all over the world with one goal: a Glowing Piece of our Radical Rock. But one question still remain: Do You Have It?" Also in the Global GUTS television show, a Gold Metal Update screen was shown before the Events got underway.

After the GUTS Tryouts, then came the players who would be on the television show.
On Monday Morning, the staff meets the players at the airport in Orlando, then followed them from Training to Game Day. From the airport, the players were taken to the GUTS Village where they stay, train & hang out.
After checking in, they signed their names on the giant GUTS Logo Registration Card mounted on the Wall, pinpoint their homes, pick up their Identifications & some cool equipment all on Monday. Monday = Orlando Airport
On Tuesday Morning, they all went On Location, to film a "Spill Your GUTS" segment that would be shown on the Television Show.
On Tuesday Night, they threw a huge party for the players in the GUTS Village. Tuesday = On Location
On Wednesday, the players toured Orlando as this would be their Last Day to relax because the following day would the Final Practice Day.
On Thursday Morning is the Practice Day where they take Practice Rounds so when Game Day arrives, they'll know what to do. At 8AM, they arrive at the Extreme Arena set in the Nickelodeon Studios, they change into their team uniforms, then meet with their coaches to discuss their strategies. Also at the Extreme Arena, both the Host & Referee get ready for a practice rehearsal.
During that time, we see the stunt crew on GUTS & Global GUTS. If you ever heard the phrase: "Don't try this at Home", this is what we mean. The Stunt Crew supervise every event & they really know what they're doing on the television show. With the Stunt Crews, the players fine-tune their skills, so that when Game Day arrives, Peek Performance can be shown which meant everyone needed to be prepared mentally & psychically because when you compete against 2 other players, you would need a flawless performance to come out on top. This applies to the events such as the water polo event: "Skyfall" & the soccer shoot out event: "Blast It". But in all events, the players can blow the lid of the event's scoring.
During the routine breaks in the workouts, the players are interviewed. Around Thursday Evening, we see the closing which features the line that the show was recorded at Nickelodeon Studios in the Universal Studios Theme Park in Orlando, Florida. Then the host meets with the players to make sure they are ready for Game Day on Friday. Thursday = Practice Day
Friday Morning arrives, which means, at the crack of dawn, everyone gets ready for the Big Day. At the Extreme Arena in the Nickelodeon Studios, everyone starts getting ready for Game Day. At 8AM, all players & crew reach the Wardrobe Trailer, to get dressed and get ready. At the Extreme Arena, the players stretch out, get last minute advice from their coaches & wait until the show airs to make their entrance as the staff makes the last minute changes if necessary as Showtime gets closer. Outside the Nickelodeon Studios at a Production Truck, the Directors & Producers get the show started.
And the Rest is History. Friday = Game Day
So when I decide to make an OOC Guild Game of GUTS, we'll be able to find out what happens to the characters when they appear on Nickelodeon GUTS, The Action Sports Game that will make everyone sweat.
But first, I may make a Preview OOC in the PSAs section called: "The Road to the Extreme Arena Preview PSA", so to give a Sneak Preview as we learn more about Nickelodeon GUTS along with what to expect. Think of it as a "Behind the Scenes" look.
