In the sport of beyblade, kids challenge each other usually for fun, but when a bully named Carlos wins the beyblade of Andrew's in a bet, Tyson, our hero, just cannot take it. He challenges Carlos, winner takes the beyblades. Carlos loses and just as Tyson was about to collect his prize to give back the blades that Carlos stole, the leader of a team called the Blade sharks named Kai shows up and smacks Carlos to the ground. Tyson challenges Kai and is impressed of Kai's bit beast within the blade, but question is, can Tyson beat Kai?

Tyson's beyblade gets torn to shreds and he has to build a new one. In order to beat Kai, Tyson needed something special and sure enough, Dragoon heard him and helped him out. Though the rematch ended in a draw, Tyson was able to rescue the chief and now they have to work together to try and build the best blade there can be with the help of dizzi and dragoon.

Tyson meets a kid named Max who had just moved into town. Then the head of the BBA named Mr. Dickenson tells Max and Tyson about the upcoming tournament. Then the training begins.

The beyblade tournament qualifier began where Max and Tyson won in their respective blocks. However, Kenny aka the chief did not, but to no surprise that he was up against Kai.

It was Max vs Kai and though it was Kai winning the first round and Max the second, Max still lost the 3rd round even with Draciel being added to his blade.

When Tyson faces Rei in round 1, he loses big time, but thanks to Kenny, Tyson's beyblade made a comeback and thensome for round 2. Rei forfeits round 3, thus making Tyson the winner and Tyson will now face Kai.

Tyson beats Kai in a spectacular fashion when he receives not only a birthday party, but the news that he, Max, Rei, Kai, and the chief are going to represent Japan for the beyblade world championships.

The bladebreaker's first stop is in China and so they run into two members of the white tiger team when out in the streets looking for Kai.

Kevin battles Tyson and wins one round, but loses one round before being exposed for breaking white tiger team rules whatever those are. The other white tiger team members show up and then they notice that Rei who used to be a white tiger has turned traitor and joined the bladebreakers.

The tournament in China began where the blade breakers took on the tall guys. One blader used a yak beast and lost to Rei. Another blader used heat and lost to Max. And the last blader used a kick boxing technique and lost to Tyson. Needless to say, the bladebreakers are going onto their next match. Meanwhile the white tiger team has won their match as well where the bladebreakers witnessed Mariah release her Galyx bit beast and tear her opponent's blade in half.

Kevin steals a disc while Kenny was getting some tea, but is chased by Kenny until Rei stops Kevin before Kevin could get away. In a beybattle, Rei not only loses to Kevin, but loses Drigger too. Tyson battles Kevin next and shows Kevin whose boss thus getting the disk back. Kai just had to add salt to injury on Rei stating how disappointed he was in Rei.

Rei wanted to quit the team because he didn't have Drigger (I blame Kai) and went to a mountain top to cool off to gather his thoughts. Tyson and Max follow Rei and Mariah wanted Rei back with the white tigers saying that they wanted him even before he had drigger. Thanks to Mariah's pep talk and a battle with Tyson in that Rei won, Rei decided to return to the Bladebreakers, but wanted to be friends with the white tigers.

An agreement is made between Rei and Lee where whoever wins the finals gets to keep Drigger. Rei and Lee both explain to the two teams about the past and how Drigger was supposed to go to Lee, but because Lee was unworthy, Rei got it instead. at first, Lee was okay with it until Rei moved on and went to Japan and joined up with the bladebreakers. all Rei wanted to do was show the world what Drigger could do and in order to do that, he felt like it was time to go somewhere else. Drigger does return happy that Rei cares so much for it and therefore allows the bladebreakers to move on.

Kevin causes a landslide in an attempt to stop the bladebreakers from advancing, which Mariah finds out about. (This Kevin is mean) Regardless, the bladebreakers do advance after winning their matches and a bit of heroics from Tyson after Rei twists his ankle. Max won round 1, Kai won round 2, and Tyson won round 3.

The China finals have begun and Max was pitted against Gary, who Gary unfortunately took round 1. Now its Rei vs Mariah.
