Season 1

A boy named Jaden Yuki is the newest and hottest duelist around since Yugi Muto retired and is attending an institution known as Duel Academy. On his first day, he receives a card from Yugi called Winged Kuriboh.

After arriving at the school, he is placed into the lowest ranking dorm on campus only because he is a first year, but true to the rep, he was a wonder.

Year 1 was to prepare for the saving of the sacred beast cards from Kagemaru and the shadow riders. The shadow riders were, Nightshroud aka Atticus Rhodes, Camula, Tanya, the Scorpions, and Amnael aka Professor Banner.

Gone from year 1 at the start of year 2 was Professor Banner's physical form while his light ball remains in Pharoh the cat's belly, and Chumley who graduated and is working for industrial illusions. Oh, and Zane Truesdale also graduated.

It is now year 2 and already Jaden had his first duel with a celebrity known as Aster Phoenix. Jaden is still using his signature elemental hero deck while Aster used a sub deck of random cards.

Another new student on the scene is Tyranno Hasselberry who is in the Ra Yellow dorm with Bastion Misawa from year 1. Tyranno is a military-style duelist who uses a dinosaur deck just like Rex Raptor from the original did. What is unique about Tyranno is that he has a dinosaur bone in his leg.

Oh and Dr. Crowler is now the chancellor with a sidekick known as Bonaparte as vice chancellor.

Chazz has the opportunity to return to the blue dorm, but is stuck in red against his wishes so he decides to spruce up his room.

Hassleberry has been stealing duel disks because he was pissed that he wasn't in Obelisk Blue dorm. Jaden teaches Tyranno that he has to change his strategy in order to win friends and keep em and then Jaden wins all the disks back.

Syrus has to learn to overcome his fear if he wants to be moved to Ra Yellow and beat Misty in a duel. Thankfully, he does and realizes that he can do things if he tries.

Zane faces off against Aster, where Aster uses a hero deck just like Jaden. However, unlike Jaden, Aster fuses his monsters differently. Aster wins against Zane and then proceeds to tell the news about where he is going next.

Aster heads to duel academy to have his rematch against Jaden where both duelists are using their hero decks. Aster reveals that his deck is actually a destiny hero deck whereas Jaden uses the elemental hero deck proving that their decks are similar, yet different.

Jaden loses his duel against Aster and something bad happens to Jaden.

Atticus duels Alexis because he wants to be in a dueling pop star duo with her and she meaning Alexis doesnt want that. Alexis wins and Jaden wants to quit duel academy because he cannot see his cards.

Chazz battles Sartorious and becomes a slave to the society of light.

Jaden was sent into Neo Space after being stranded at sea where he meets Neo Spacian Aqua dolphin who helps him remember why he began dueling in the first place, thus giving Jaden new hope and a new deck.

Professor Satyr was feeling lonely so he gave his Ra yellow dorm students that went to Slifer Red an ultimatum. Lose a duel with him and they all come back to Ra, but win, and he'll go away. Hassleberry reminded Satyr that the Ras didn't leave because of Satyr, but because the Slifers needed the Ras and that Satyr's cooking would be appreciated.

Syrus and Hassleberry have a duel to see who Jaden's best pal is going to be. Syrus wins, but needs food and rest after since he has been searching for Jaden every night since Jaden went missing without food or sleep.

Zane Truesdale has become the loser of the pro league,. That is until a man by the name of Shroud convinces Zane to join the underground. Being not as nice as before, Zane is once again on top.

Jaden is lost and is starving to the point where he is starting to hallucinate. Wheeler the Monkey decides to help Jaden out as payback for freedom. And, after reviewing some past duels and eating some bananas, Jaden stops hallucinating, thanked Wheeler, and then went the wrong way.
