The Chimereid Islands are a magical place. You are allowed to design any type of non-modern day setting you wish but the magic should come from the world, and not be something a character can truly posses or create unless granted it by the shop. Do you want a pool that's made of rainbow water? That's okay! Do you want floating stones that you have to cross to get over a gorge? That's also okay! Is there a lake of healing and rejuvenation? Fine by us! Generally speaking, there's a lot of magic in the land and as a player, you are allowed to tap into as a setting.

When it comes to your individual characters, though, they are limited in whether or not they have a power or ability!

Breed Powers & Abilities
Generally speaking, a character is primarily limited to whether or not they can have powers by looking at their base breed. If their base breed doesn't come with a special power, then your character won't have one naturally.

That doesn't mean they can't earn powers or magic though.

Through activity, RP, ARP, and sometimes pure luck, the shop will offer magic, as well as Blessings (or Curses) which could unlock abilities or traits. Should your character already have magic, there are certain prompts and RPs that will allow your character to use their magic and grow/learn additional skills or to power it up.

The only individuals capable of physical flight are those with full-sized back-wings. Mini-wings, butt-wings, head-wings, feet-wings, etc. will not allow physical flight. The exception to this are Gods -- who need no wings to fly -- or species that indicate they have natural flight abilities.

Some characters might never be magical but grow to have greater physical skills and abilities--while others might be blessed by the spirit who grant them a new power. There are lots of options in the world... all we ask is you keep your character in boundaries and don't break the rules. Be honest. If your character hasn't been granted magic, keep them without until you earn it!

Magic XP

This stat dictates how strong a pet's natural magic is! If they have natural magic or powers associated with the breed then this stat will dictate its strength! The higher the Magic skill, the better they are at wielding it!

Breeds who have breed-specific magic do not need to go through power approval! The breed magic is open for interpretation (within reason) and the higher the magic stat, the stronger the natural ability! This does not include Demi-Gods and Gods, who will need to go through power approval, and who will always be stronger than mortals, no matter the magic skill rank!

If your character does not have natural magic, it is possible to be granted a minor spell by beefing this skill up!

Minor Power XP

Demi-Gods and Gods will always be granted a single Minor Power stat. Non-Mythic or Legendary pets might also be granted a Minor Power stat in some sort of contest or giveaway, or through a blessing/curse! These power's must be earned by powering up the Magic XP or winning them in some sort of contest, breeding, game, or event.

Minor Power's will either be pre-determined by Shop Owners =or= determined by the player who will then need to get them approved. No matter how they are obtained, once the power is approved or pre-approved, this stat may be added to the character's stat pool.

The stronger the stat, the greater the power! Similar to the magic stat, the minor power can earn additional minor powers or transform into a Major Power.

Here are some Minor Power restrictions:
It's usually a single effect (i.e. creating a small whip of fire)
It usually will only affect a single target/individual (i.e. blessing someone with a small orb of light)
It usually will only last a short while (i.e. the barrier will only last an hour)
It usually will only affect a small area/location (i.e. flowers will grow in a small patch up to 3 feet)

Demi-Gods and Gods magic is stronger and thus will have slightly different restrictions. Additionally, Magic is subjective so please work with RP Staff to get your Minor Power approved. Characters may earn multiple Minor Powers -- but each minor power must come with an ew Minor Power Stat

i.e.
Minor Power - Ice Whip XP
Minor Power - Ice Shield XP

Moderate Power XP

Moderate Power's are either minor powers that are leveled up, or given out in some sort of contest, event, giveaway, or earned through XP. These power's must be earned by powering up the Magic XP or winning them in some sort of contest, breeding, game, or event.

Moderate Power's will either be pre-determined by Shop Owners =or= determined by the player who will then need to get them approved. No matter how they are obtained, once the power is approved or pre-approved, this stat may be added to the character's stat pool.

The stronger the stat, the greater the power! Similar to the magic stat, the minor power can earn additional minor powers or transform into a Major Power.

Here are some Moderate Power restrictions:
It's usually a single effect of stronger duration, or multiple effects (i.e. creating a large whip of fire =or= creating multiple fireballs to wield at any given time)
It usually will only affect a single target/individual with greater effect, or multiple targets of smaller effect (i.e. blessing someone with a halo of light that lets them light up an entire room for a few hours; blessing multiple individuals with a small orb of light for a few hours)
It usually will only no more than a day (i.e. the barrier will only last for six hours or until its beaten down by another power)
It usually will only affect a moderate area/location (i.e. flowers will grow in a small patch up to 30 feet from the source of magic)

Demi-Gods and Gods magic is stronger and thus will have slightly different restrictions. Additionally, Magic is subjective so please work with RP Staff to get your Moderate Power approved. Characters may earn multiple Moderate Powers -- but each Moderate power must come with a new Moderate Power Stat

i.e.
Moderate Power - Lightning Barrier XP
Moderate Power - Void Drain (Multiple Targets) XP

Major Power XP

Gods will always be granted a single Major Power stat. Demi-Gods and Non-Deities might also be granted a Major Power stat in some sort of contest or giveaway, or through a blessing/curse! These power's must be earned by powering up the Magic XP or winning them in some sort of contest, breeding, game, or event.

Major Power's will either be pre-determined by Shop Owners =or= determined by the player who will then need to get them approved. No matter how they are obtained, once the power is approved or pre-approved, this stat may be added to the character's stat pool.

The stronger the stat, the greater the power! Similar to the magic stat, the major power stat can be leveled up. The higher the level, the stronger it becomes and the individual can gain another Minor Power or even another Major Power.

Here are some Major Power restrictions:
It's usually some larger type of magic (i.e. creating fire rain)
It can affect multiple targets/individuals with great effect (i.e. blessing 10 individuals with an orb of light to last for 72 hours)
It can last up to three days (i.e. the barrier will last 72 hours)
It can affect a large area/location (i.e. flowers will grow over an entire field)

Demi-Gods and Gods magic is stronger and thus will have slightly different restrictions. Additionally, Magic is subjective so please work with RP Staff to get your Major Power approved.

Characters may earn multiple Major Powers -- but each major power must come with a new Major Power Stat

i.e.
Major Power - Blizzard XP
Minor Power - Ice Fortress XP

Blessings/Curses
Blessings & Curses are the result of the magic on the isles. These can be obtained through games, giveaways, conversion pets, breedings, or obtaining XP points. These are traits or powers that aren't natural to the base breed. Sometimes these traits are simply physical in nature, while others might result in a type of magic or power.

Powers will either be stated ahead of time, or will need approval from the Power & Abilities Thread before you can use it in RP!

Blessing/Curses that are magical in nature will use both the Magic XP stat, but also the Minor Power XP stat and Major Power XP stat listed above.

Stats
Magic Stats, as well as Minor Powers and Major Powers will always start at 0. To earn stats you must either purchase stats through RP Points, participate in stat-specific games and events, or complete RP Prompts and Scenarios that grant stats of a specific type!

To earn stats you will need to get them approved by our staff! members. The higher the stat, the more power the skill! Get stats of certain types high enough and you'll open up various rewards!

Remember, Gods will always be stronger than Demi-Gods who will always be stronger than Mortals... no matter the strength of ones Magic, Minor Power, or Major Power!

Inheritance
All magic can be passed down in breedings! If it's a natural magic, then it will follow the breed so long as they inherit the breed base.

If it's a blessing/curse, than the magic must be clearly indicated on the design. All breeding offspring blessing/curses will begin as a Minor Power, regardless of what strength their parents magic may have been.

The exception to this are God x God breedings. Then, the offspring will be born with both a Major and Minor power.
