It had been some time since he had last flown around; some time since he had done a great many things. Winter had been one of the greatest wonders to Alexandre as a colt and while he could no longer see the world around him, Alexandre still enjoyed the way the snow smelt, or how how his nose would chill in the evening air.

Alexandre took in a deep breath of the winter air, his chest expanding with the effort before he let it out in a great whoosh. As the days grew colder Alexandre began to wonder if he should find a nice cave to make a den in for when the snow turned to ice and it grew to difficult for him to wander as he was want to do. Or maybe he should return to the ghost herd lands, his family would surely welcome him heartily. He wondered how many more foals would be there this time.

Ever since he had been able to walk, Alexandre had a knack for wandering off and finding trouble, and adulthood proved to be no different. While mostly hidden, there were a few scars upon him which showed just how much trouble he'd gotten in his earlier days. This led him to often be away from the family grounds and unaware of many of the new births, mateships, and the like. However, Alexandre was finding that while he still greatly enjoyed wandering and likely would never grow weary of traveling just to enjoy the smells around him, he was eager to return home. He missed the companionship and family atmosphere.

More recently Alexandre had begun to contemplate the merits of seeking out a partner. However, how did one find a partner? What were the qualities he'd like to have in one? He'd never been particularly considered with being attracted to one sex over the other, so it lended further to his struggle of imaging a possible future with another. Any foals he'd have he'd want to be involved with of course, but a life long partner? He wasn't sure. Though, the idea of being with another for the sake of foals didn't particularly appeal to him either. But. . . He quite liked the idea of being a father. "Would they be like me?" He whispered to himself as the idea began to grow. "I could teach them how appreciate the world as it is." What a proud moment that would be; teaching his young how to feel the beauty around them. While he hoped his children would never develop his blindness, he would be the greatest teacher when it came to being independent despite not knowing where you were going or how you'd get there. Or how to skim the treetops when flying without sight and without crashing into great sycamores. Yes, he knew with certainty he was ready to be a father.
