It wasn't dark enough to justify bringing her lantern along, so Dagrún left it at home before she went out to do some exploring. She had a nice gallop across a field, enjoying the wind blowing through her mane, before she encountered a family of rabbits; she tried to play with them, but they seemed more annoyed with her for getting in the way than anything else. Eventually fed up with her antics, the mother rabbit shouted at her to leave them be, and Dagrún slunk away with her tail tucked between her legs. A small pack of wolves she met later on were much more receptive to her attempts to play, and together they spent a long time chasing each other around the trees. By the time the wolves said their goodbyes and went on their way, Dagrún was in a much better mood, humming a song to herself as she debated making her way back to her family's territory. Maybe Starling would like to hear about her new wolf friends! She always seemed interested in her stories, or at least nice enough to listen. She tried to tell her brother Áleifr about her day sometimes, but he always seemed to be secretly laughing at her. She shook her head -- no use dwelling on that thought! She was having a nice day and was determined not to let anyone ruin it. Maybe she'd make more friends on her way home, or maybe it'd just be a nice walk. Either one sounded nice!

She wasn't too far from home when she spotted a unicorn mare in the field she had passed by earlier. Playing with someone closer to her size was so much more fun! With an excited wag of her tail, she trotted her way towards the mare -- whether she wanted the company or not. "Hi!" she called out, her tail still wagging. "My name's Dagrún. It's nice to meet you!"
