The moon was gorgeous, the air was chilly, and Ayrani was having a delightful walk with only one downside: she could feel eyes on her the whole time. She didn't understand where they were coming from, she could see no one actually following her, heard no snaps of twigs or odd sounds behind her own steps, but she could swear that there was someone watching. She had taken several cautious glances around her, even walked backwards at one point to try and assure that no one could be following without her notice, but she was finding it very hard to settle in to truly enjoy her walk. In the process of trying to catch the gaze of her unknown follower, she'd somewhat lost track of what her path had even been...
So it was that she stumbled upon a shop in her path. She had no idea when she'd ended up anywhere near so much as a whiff of a town, but the door was before her quite insistently. After blinking away the confusion, she realized that actually, this might be a blessing. Perhaps she could hide inside? Whoever was following her would be forced to either also go in (she could finally catch them!) or to pass on and leave her to her own devices. Yes! This was the perfect opportunity. Ayrani quickly pulled the door and hurried inside, glancing back behind her as the door slowly closed. She dared her follower to join her inside.
Shaking off the concern for now, she turned to examine the shop she'd entered. It was cozy, though it felt somehow a little disorganized -- the tables seemed a bit more jumbled than organized, but that was no trouble exactly, just an aesthetic difference from what Ayrani would have expected. Behind the counter, spices lined the wall waiting to be used, and she realized what she had stumbled into. For a chilly night such as this, tea was a delightful surprise. "Hello!" Ayrani smiled at the centauress behind the counter.
