It had been quite some time since his and Illyes's reunion, and Eiran had not been sure what to make of the silence. He had spent the time buried in solitary study; it made for a useful distraction, hunting down ancient lore, and chasing down whisperings of strange creatures that were vampires-but-not, coming from somewhere Eastward and bringing ill tidings. There were few records of the creatures called Kuei-jin, and the lack of knowledge made Eiran itch.
But even a puzzle this grand could not truly keep his attention. Not when Illyes had been in his grasp again, and had once again disappeared, like smoke throguh his fingers. But he had no way to know where to start looking for clues as to Illyes's whereabouts. Simply had to trust that with the power he wielded, he would be fine.
"Trust" was not an easy thing for Eiran, but if there was anyone he would give it to absolutely, it was Illyes.
But still, he was left at something of a loss--until the message appeared.
Blood, dripping on the wall of his haven, certainly enough to attract his attention, and with just enough information to know where to go and that Illyes was looking for him. If his heart were still capable, he suspected the missive would have sent it racing. The place he was told to seek Illyes out--the dungeon in the Temple to the new God of Vampires--was not exactly somewhere he'd have thought to look for a Disciple, and he wasn't sure what it meant that this was where he was led.
It was not hard to find the Temple, and while the outside was imposing, the inside was....remarkably homey. Colorful. Very...pillow-filled.
There was no one to stop him, and so Eiran found his way through, into the dungeons. He wasn't entirely sure what to expect, given the circumstances--but Illyes was here, and he had called, after a fashion, and Eiran would always come.
"Illyes?"
