Garvine Magic Crafters Prince (Uhlan)
[Player's Room] Well, Hello There. I'm Prince Garvine from the Mermaid Princess RP Guild and this is Mermaid Chise, from the same RP. Garvine said to the viewers
This time we a have another OOC Game to talk about that's a Crossword Clue themed Game. An 8-Letter Word Clue, "They are an insect to injury when it comes to a house & home". Answer? Termites. It's Scrabble! One of the best Network Television Games based on a Bord Game which took the Crossword Concept and expanded upon it.
Sounds like an easy game, Chise. Garvine said to Chise
= Gameplay 2: Scrabble 84 Endgame/Bonus Sprints Narrator: The Goal of the Scrabble Sprint is to solve 4 Crossword Clues in the best time possible.
The First Player would set a time then the Second Player would then attempt to beat that time.
The Amount of letters in the word & clue are given. 2 Letters are shown and the player must select 1 letter while the other goes back into the shuffle. Before the Bonus Starts, the player is given the option to choose one of two colored envelopes, Blue or Pink, while the unpicked envelope goes to the other player.
When that player knows the answer, that player would ring in and guess. Correct Answers would proceed to the next word while an incorrect answer adds 10 Seconds to the First Player until that player answers right. One thing worth mentioning in the end game is that all the letters in the crossword are good and that there aren't any Stoppers at all.
The Player who wins this round, gets $1,000 & proceeds to the Bonus Sprint. The Bonus Sprint has 2 words. I plan to do the Bonus Sprint like this in the Scrabble OOC Game... If the player guesses the first word in the Bonus Sprint, that player gets $2,500 & should the player get BOTH Words, then that total is brought up to $5,000. The Narrator said to the viewers, Garvine and Chise.
= 3. Scrabble Puzzle Cube Narrator: Before I continue, I would like to talk about the most expensive prop that was used for that game. The Puzzle Cube that houses the Computers for the Scrabble Game Board, Scrabble Sprint, Bonus Sprint and its several neon lights along with cables to operate it. For 1984, it was pretty advanced for its time but not without its problems.
During 1984 to 1993, it took about one spin rotation before stopping that would cause it to break down before it was reset. At one time it was destroyed since during that time, the Original IATSE Operator was replaced and the new person had no idea how to operate it, when the clue was given, he let the cube run past its 3rd & 4th rotations. As a result, cracking and grinding sounds were heard. The Cube was destroyed as a result and turned into a Trapezoid.
While the monitors were still intact, everything else had to be replaced and that one glitch cost NBC $1 Million in damages during 1984 which would be about $2.91 Million Dollars today.
So the Scrabble Set would be TOO Costly for a Producer to spend on which is almost $3 Million. Even the Props for the All-New Price is Right in 1994 didn't cost THAT Much & that goes double for Wheel of Fortune. The Narrator said to the characters
= 4. Scrabble 84 Ratings Narrator: For 6 Years at 10 AM during its time, NBC ended the show in 1990 to make room for something new and different which turned out to be Reruns. In 1991, USA Network took control of Scrabble for their Game Show Afternoon Programing & that's the end of the 1984 Version but NOT the end of Scrabble. The Narrator said to the characters
= 5. Scrabble 1990 Narrator: Scrabble arrived in Syndication as a Pilot Episode in 1990. The Scrabble set was redesigned but the gameplay remained the same as the 1984 Version. But wait, there's more! The Narrator said to the characters
= 6. Scrabble 1993 Narrator: Scrabble returned once again in 1993 by NBC but once again more setbacks happened during its premiere week. The Monitor Displays and Stopper Lights didn't work & once again, the Scrabble Cube Gameboard didn't work either. To Remedy this issue, the Crossword Monitors were used. Most if not all of the problems would be ironed out. The Gameplay was still the same as ever and Scrabble was axed in Summer 1993. The Reason being Games during the Daytime couldn't compete with the talk shows. USA Network would also lose the show in Halloween 1995 along with its Game Show Programming. The Narrator said to the characters
