RP Contest & Flaffle Giveaway


These three taurs are in need of a good home! If their markings and colors look familiar, it's because the meddling spirit (s1|versong) based their designs on two lucky taurs owned by Uta. But colors and markings are as far as the similarities, or familiarity, goes! This trio is not related in any fashion to the duo -- and whether or not they're related to one another is completely up to their future owners!

RP Contest
We will be running both an RP Contest and a Flaffle. The RP Contest will be judged first and the winner granted their first choice of pet. The remaining duo will be given out via Flaffle.

Flaffle
Everyone is welcome to also participate in the Flaffle for the remaining two pets! We will randomize winners after we judge the RP Contest. Entering the Flaffle will yield one ticket. If you tried out in the RP Contest, that will yield you another ticket (provided you want it)! If you are new to the shop (1 finished*** taur or less) you will get an additional ticket! ***The pet should be finished/dropped. If you have a taur or two on the way but have not yet received the pet, you're still considered new!

Please note, you can only win one pet, no matter how many tickets you have!

I'm Inspired to Write!
Preference Order: Purple & Black Female, Blue Elaphotaur Female
Personality: She seems sweet and carefree, but under the surface she's cool and calculating, constantly monitoring her surroundings. What qualms she had about her work were banished long ago. Coin pays the bills better than having ethics ever did.
History: Velora is a mercenary, a sword for hire who moves from place to place. She was orphaned as a foal, and raised by the local garrison. They taught her to defend herself, and that the strong should defend the weak. As an adult, Velora learned that defending the weak doesn't pay for meals, and began offering to be a bodyguard for hire. Not long after, she discovered that mercenary work was even more lucrative, and now travels around offering her services, and working for the highest bidder.

Prompt: The summer nights are warm, and the sky is a blanket of stars. With your weapon by your side, you're on the move. There are rumors of usnavory sorts in the area, but that doesn't stop you. Where are you going?
What are you doing? Are you part of those unsavory bands or are you there to help guard the innocent, or are you doing something else? What does this night have in store for you?
The inn keeper had told her to be careful, that there were bands of bad people roaming the countryside lately, but Velora paid no heed. She'd thanked him, paid her tab, and walked out into the night. Since the solstice the days had been too hot to travel, so she needed to travel at night to save her strength. It wasn't as if she were helpless, after all. She'd been trained by soldiers, raised by them in fact, and they'd taught her to be ruthless in a fight. She was no wilting flower. No, Velora was a warrior, and good at it. She was actually on her way to a new client who needed someone to keep his underlings in line. His letter had said something or other about a large banquet with the minor nobles under him, and a need to keep them from leaving.
Velora's pace remained steady, even as she sensed eyes on her, heard a rustle in the underbrush that another would have assumed was animals. She kept her expression neutral; it wouldn't do to give away that she knew they were there. As she came level with the two that had been stationed further up the road, she pretended to trip, subtly letting her sword begin to come free of it's sheath for a faster draw. The brigand on her right leapt from his hiding place, and was cleaved nearly in two for his trouble. The one on the left had been just a touch behind in his timing, giving Velora the split second she needed to use her momentum to change the direction of her attack. He, too, became nothing more than a corpse on the road. If they'd been better coordinated, they may have had a chance, she mused.
Velora wiped their blood off on the back of the second male, then slowly turned in a circle to allow the others hiding to see that she was unharmed. "You should pay attention to whom you try to rob", she called to them.
Nothing moved. It seemed as if the forest itself was holding it's breath, waiting to see if someone else would dare try to attack her. She waited a span of 3 heartbeats before bending down, naked sword still in her hand, and rifled through the pockets of one, then the other. Velora hadn't expected to find much. The first had a nice silver dagger on his belt that she tucked away in her bag, and the other had a small pouch of coins. Sheathing her sword, she casually began walking again. "I'd move on if I were you. It's mostly farmers that come through here. Try a bigger city", she spoke aloud. She hoped they would listen and move on. While she held no affection for the people here, she knew that they couldn't afford to be robbed every time they came back from market day, and robbing someone for a measly few coins wouldn't do anyone any good anyways.
