GOING FORWARD ALL PAST RULES ARE *explosion sound*. They don't exist, they are done. Don't even think about them.

These are the guidelines the shop will be following from now.

Anything already made that doesn't follow these new rules... well, they existed before these rules. So they exist now and we just gotta deal with it. Stuff happens. The new rules apply to everything going forward.

BUT IF SOMEONE HAS AN ISSUE REMEMBER to speak with Management.

There have been very real scenarios where we changed or brought something back and someone was upset because it was a big deal for them in the past. If these issues arise we need to remind people that it is impossible for us to know everything including what happened back then, if it was more recent well, that's why we made these rules.

We are happy to make it right for anyone negatively impacted but we need a chance to do so.

Keep in mind:

1. Base line-art traits DO NOT transfer PERIOD. Nothing. Nada. Zip. No clothes, no jewelry, no hairstyle, no limbs/tails/ears, nothing. If it ain't an edit it doesn't go on another race.

2. Only EDITS transfer. If something was added to unedited line-art that specific edit can transfer across races/to offspring.

REMEMBER THE MOST IMPORTANT PART:

Edits can cross races and be passed down to offspring.

Unedited things that belong to the line-art at a base level DO NOT EVER PASS to a different race.

Guidelines For Edits

Did you read the post above? If you didn't, go back and read it. xD

________________

What Can't/Can Transfer for Breedings?:

UNEDITED:
(Refers to base line-art with no edits.)

Base line-art traits of unedited kats DO NOT pass to offspring of different races, ever.
That INCLUDES hairstyle, clothes, jewelry, and body parts. Basically, if you have two unedited Kats and they breed you should be using unedited line-art of either race from the Cloudinary to make their babies and not be adding anything to it.
(Fertility Demi-Gods can change this but that's not the point being made here).

EDITS:
(Refers to anything edited into/changed/added to the base line-art such as different clothes, hair, jewelry, fluff, limbs, etc.)

Anything that was ADDED, by a colorist, to the original unedited line-art of the parent can be added to the offspring.

There will be no Frankenkining the unedited line-art by slapping a Baddie tail on a Reg or putting a Pure Halo on a Nymphae. That's a big no and some serious frowny face time.

________________

Glow-Ups/Unique Line-art/Race Change:

What if a Kat with Unique line-art is changing races or getting a glow-up, what can transfer?:

Unique edited line-art traits and edits can follow a Kat through a race change or be added to a glow-up unless it isn't really an edit and would technically just be part of the species base line-art.

Base line-art traits do not follow from one race to another.

Example:
If your unique lined Kat was a Meanki and you change it to a Renp it can't have a Meanki tail added to replace the Renp's tail.

Again, no frankenkats.

________________

How much can we add to a glow-up/race change from the original?:

Some glow-up items (clothing/hairstyle/jewelry) are acceptable but nothing medium/heavily edited (that includes new limbs, or wings, or tails, or claws, or whatever). The Kat wouldn't have suddenly sprouted wings when it got all fancy from a glow-up unless it already HAD them.

Bottom line, you will NOT get a TON of new stuff that didn't exist previously and the kat cannot be edited to have a body trait it didn't have before it changed races/had a glow up. The exception is a Kat going into a clan or tribe that needs edits to fit in.

If you are changing your Kats race you need to realize that they may lose some features if they don't fit/belong on the new race.

________________

You said colorists won't add to it. What exactly does that mean?:

You cannot change a Kat's race and then add traits from the original race to the new race, unless they are edits. That's what I mean. Edits transfer, base stuff doesn't.

Example:
Changing a Meanki to a Pure.
The Meanki had no wings, but pure's have wings. They can stay, you don't remove that trait because the Meanki didn't have them, they belong on the Pure race so they stay.

But if you changed a Pure with unedited wings to a Meanki, the Meanki doesn't get any wings, or the pure's halo, or any of that base pure stuff.

Again, anything that belongs to the base line-art will not transfer.

Exception:
The only exception is if the Pure had edited wings, like big feathery ones or unique wings. Those can transfer over to the new race they are switching to because they are edits. But don't abuse this and give them dramatically different wings. They need to remain the same type/shape/base color.

Racial Breeding Restrictions, Rules and Information:

• Please check the Breeding Rules regarding User Owned Races in the User Owned Races Thread for more specifics on breeding rules involving non-shop races.

BIG #1 RULE:

• If breeding a powerful Faekat with a lesser powerful Faekat, the baby will always come out the lesser strength of the two. (Unless racial rules specify otherwise)

________________

Deities:

• Gen 1 Deities are not related to other Gen 1 Deities but still cannot breed with other Deities (Gen 2 Deities also cannot breed with other Deities). Gen 3 and further removed Deities are exempt from this rule.

• Deities cannot use a Fertility Demi for a blessing as Deities are already powerful enough and do not need the boons that Fertility Demi’s grant.

• Deities (Gen 1 and 2) can only officially take an Angelique as a mate. They also do not tend to take a mate outside of their alignment. Permission is needed from Management and there should be a good reason they are doing so.

• If a Deity and an Angelique break their mated bond the Angelique returns to being an Angelic or Dark Angelic respectively. They may become an Angelique again if they become mates with another Deity.

Deities - Godlings (Gen 3/higher Deity offspring) and Demi-Gods (MortalxDeity Offspring):

• Godlings (Deities Gen 3 and later) can take any race as a mate unless there is a Racial rule or restriction that prohibits it.

• Demi-Gods cannot mate first or second-generation deities.

Demoniques:

• Demoniques can lifemate with gods (babies would be gods, same as with angeliques). They are pretty much the demon form of angeliques, except that they don't need a god to sustain their powers while an Angelique cannot be an Angelique without a god as a lifemate. Demons be rebels, yo.

Draekats:

• Draekats do not need a partner to breed. They can summon an egg through the will of their magic. Two Kat magical reproduction is not needed. Because of this though, Draekats only have one egg at a time if alone.

Faeries:

• Offspring of two Faeries have a 25% chance at Faery offspring but it is not guaranteed. Faery blessing is not always genetic. Oberon is the main creator of this race.

Fertility Demi-Gods:

• Fertility Demi-Gods are NOT related to Deities or other Fertility Demi-Gods. For instance, if they bred with a Faekat that had been blessed by another Fertility Demi-God there is no issue. (One, the Fertility Demi uses a special magic to bless, that child does not have the Fertility Demi's genetics and TWO Fertility Demi's aren't related so it doesn't matter.)

• Fertility Demi-Gods are NOT the races they bless, period. They are their own race entirely and just happen to have magic aligned to bless a specific race.

Kuei-Jin:

• Dharma Kuei-Jin do not breed with Heretical Dharma Kuei-Jin, Scorpion Eaters, Vampires, Demons or Werewolves. They can breed with other Dharma Kuei-Jin and Dharma-less Kuei-Jin.

• Heretical Dharma Kuei-Jin do not breed with Dharma Kuei-Jin, Scorpion Eaters, Vampires, Demons or Werewolves. They can breed with other Heretical Dharma Kuei-Jin and Dharma-less Kuei-Jin.

• Scorpion Eater Kuei-Jin do not breed with Dharma, Heretical Dharma Kuei-Jin, Vampires, Demons or Werewolves. They can breed with other Scorpion Eaters and Dharma-less Kuei-Jin.

Vampires:

• Vampires, Kuei-Jin, Demons, and Werewolves cannot breed together unless it's a Sabbat Vampire and a Black Spiral Dancer Werewolf OR a Baali Vampire and a Demon.

• Clan Vampires cannot breed with other vampires outside of their Sect unless it is with a clanless vampire.

Vampire Sub-Race - Daywalkers:

• Daywalkers blessed by Apollo do not have Daywalker children. This is a boon, a blessing for serving Apollo, if they ever left his service they would revert back to being their original race so it would not pass on.

• Daywalkers blessed by Domyna can have Daywalker children as Daywalker is their actual race.

Werewolves:

• Tribe and Pack Werewolves prefer to breed with Werewolves within their own tribe/pack.

Appearance Guidelines:

________________

Race Specific Traits and Requirements:

Races need to have their standard traits, this is especially important for elite and special races. Please do not make an elite or special race look completely outside the standards for the race without permission and good reason.

Examples:
A Holykat should not look demonic or zombiefied or evil. They are like Paladins of good and they loathe evil.

An Unholykat should not look cute, or sweet, or good. They should be rotting in some capacity or look evil as heck.

________________

Elite Races:

Angelic/Dark Angelic Appearance:

Angelics should look angelic. Their wings must be either feather wings, faery wings, or bat wings in light colors and be fitting for a good aligned creature.

Dark Angelics should look dark. They can have either bat, feather wings, or faery wings in dark colors and be fitting for an ebil aligned creature.

NO extra features such as eyes, or mouths without permission from either Yayoi or Pinka.

Angelique Appearance:

Good Aligned Angeliques should look angelic. Their wings must be either feather wings, faery wings, or bat wings in light colors and be fitting for a good aligned creature.

Ebil Angeliques should look dark. They can have either bat, feather wings, or faery wings in dark colors and be fitting for an ebil aligned creature.

In addition this race can also be customed to compliment their Deity.

NO extra features such as eyes, or mouths without permission from either Yayoi.

Daughters of Caine
Daughters of Caine should never be super-edited as they are meant to be clones of Kindred, Caine's beloved daughter. They are recommended to be colored uniquely though with a theme. They are a little stronger than normal vampires and are loyally bound to Kindred.

Absolutely NO extra features such as eyes, or mouths without permission from Yayoi

Deity Appearance:
Deity Appearances are perhaps one of the most extreme at the shop as they can vary from one kat to another depending on their domain and alignment. All colorists that take on a deity bribe or custom should run all concept sketches by Yayoi before finishing.

Keep them looking like the alignment they belong to or as close as possible.

NO extra features such as eyes, or mouths without permission from Yayoi.

Holykat/Unholykat Appearance
Holykat and Unhoykats are paladins and dark knights of the mortal world. They should all wear some piece of armor or have a weapon/magic befitting their alignment.

Unholykats must always look ebil and have some zombie traits (though they can be lightly decomposed versus the normal zombie). They cannot look like they are good aligned.

Holykats must always be alive and cannot look ebil.

Unholykats/Holykats should have a weapon, but please keep it to something non-futuristic in style. Optionally they can wield magic or magical artifacts/weapons. If you wish to give a Holykat or Unholykat a wing, you may do so, but please do not give them a second one. They must follow the alignment restrictions on wings.

Absolutely NO extra features such as eyes, or mouths without permission from Yayoi

Special Races:

Animalia Appearance
These are regular, pures or baddies (original linearts preferred) that have been blessed by their goddess with features of an animal (ears, talons/claws and tail edits allowed, wings removed or added in some cases). They cannot be based on more than one animal and they cannot have beaks, or insect eyes. Keep them simple and cute. They are not meant to be freaks.

If you have questions -- ask!

Demon Appearance
Demons should always have horns, though they can vary in shape and size. They should also have demon tails, either custom drawn or simply adding an arrowhead point to an existing tail. Wings are optional but if you add them, please make sure that they follow the alignment restrictions on wings.

NO extra features such as eyes, or mouths without permission from either Yayoi.

Druid Appearance
Druids must always have one animal feature and one plant feature.

NO extra features such as eyes, or mouths without permission from either Yayoi.

Fertility Demi's
These must be Regular, Baddie or Unisex lines (or any variation of these). Exceptions can be made with permission from Management.

Freak Appearance
Freaks should always be preapproved and run by Yaya and Pinka. They are dna based creatures so they may have body mutations/edits. If any colorist wants to take on a freak, it's absolutely imperative that you show me a concept sketch to be preapproved before you finish it.

Run all Freak sketches by Yayoi.

Gremling Appearance
Gremlings are part of their environment, though they should never take on more than three elements at a time. For example, a swamp Gremling may have alligator features, as well as dragonfly wings and swampy grass, growing on his body. Gremlings can be edited on existing Faekats by all staff. However, all concept sketches for Gremling must be approved by Yaya and Pinka before a colorist finishes it.

Mutanimal
Mutanimals must be a mix of two different animals minimum, but can be up to four maximum.

NO extra features such as eyes, or mouths without permission from either Yayoi.

Unique Appearance
Unique Faekats were drawn by Meeki and are no longer available to commission.

Vampire Appearance
Clanless Vampires should blend in with everyday Ebil society, at least to a point. They can have larger claws and fangs but for the most part, they shouldn't stand out too much. Clanned vampires have a little more leeway, as they may required edits befitting of their clan. For example, Clan Gangrel might have more animalistic features, or scruffier skin. Clan Nosferatu would be bald or near bald with sores or otherwise horrible looking skin. Please make sure that if you do give a clan vampire more edits, it absolutely FITS the clan.

NO extra features such as eyes, or mouths without permission from either Yayoi.

Werewolves Appearance
Tribe Werewolves should be on Kneeling Line-art and Pack Werewolves should be on Sitting Line-art.

The exception to this is any Werewolf blessed by the Werewolf Demi's and born on non-Werewolf lineart. However if they breed with a Werewolf on Werewolf lines the offspring will revert to those lines.

They should be given scruffier skin, extremely long fangs and claws. Scars, wounds, anything that shows they have been fighting most of their life is also a plus.

If you make a Tribe Werewolf, additional edits must fit the Tribe the Werewolf is from. They should be colored to fit with their pack or tribe's aesthetic.

NO extra features such as eyes, or mouths without permission from either Yayoi.

Zombie Appearance
Zombies are perhaps one of the most edited of the elite races, simply for the fact that they are undead. They may have a missing body part (keep it simple such as ear, arm, jaw, eye, etc), and bones sticking out in various places. They may also be into mutilation like jewelry, so you may find glass shards, nails, scissors, or anything sticking out of them to make them look "prettier". Zombies must look undead, there must be some gross element to them.

NO extra features such as eyes, or mouths without permission from either Yayoi.

Cosplays:

The main thing you need to realize about a cosplay Faekat is that they are a cosplay. Every aspect to them must be adapted to a costume. If they have wings on the character, they can only have wings on the Faekat if it's natural to that lineart. Otherwise, wings have to be left off or made to look like a prop or accessory.

If your Cosplay Character intends on having the special powers of the actual character it’s based on this may affect the race of the Kat and needs special approval from Management for a race change from the standard Cosplay race.
If you want to mix a cosplay up with a rarer race, that is fine but their edits must FIT that rarer race. For example, if a character has demon horns, then it makes sense for it to be a cosplay demon.

NO extra features such as eyes, or mouths without permission from either Yayoi.
