About the Herd

A close knit group of those who either sport ice curses/blessings/powers or those who simply prefer to thrive in the colder climates. They value loyalty, strength and resilience as well respect within the hierarchy.

Those with Ice blessings/curses tend to resemble dragons/reptiles, animals suited for snow life such as arctic foxes, wolves, snow leopards or show aspects of the very ice they dwell in itself.

Those without blessings/curses who prefer to thrive in the harsher climate tend to dress in clothing similar to Vikings or eskimos with lots of naturally obtained fur to help stay warm.

Others will be welcomed on trial basis where they must prove they are able to survive and fend not only for themselves but not hinder the herd with weakness.

Culture & Beliefs

Above all else, worship is given to the gods/goddesses of ice, cold and winter storms.

Ice spirits and helpers are revered second and offered gifts to remain in their favor.

Fire is the enemy. Warmth can be obtained in other ways that does not desecrate or slander the chilling blessings that is all things ice or frozen. Natural warming of the lands is not to be despised but seen as a precursor to the chill of winter that resets all life. Fire may be only utilized in the sense that it is a tool to sustain aspects of life such as cooking food, and even then that is held in low respects. Light sources when all possible are preferred to be from magical sources, rather than torches etc.

Nothing is to be wasted and thanks must be given to the spirits and gods of ice for every successful hunt or gather. That means that all meat is made use of, all bones find their purpose and all pelts, leather and sinew is turned into something that can benefit the herd, even if it is in the smallest of places.




New members will be on a trial period, assigned a 'Guardian' and watched closely to prove they will bring only benefits to the herd, not loss.

Regular members: Those without a chosen purpose/job/desire but still bring function and familiar senses to the herd. They may also simply provide family, offspring and support to increase the herd members.


Flurries: Young taurs or new comers in training.

Drifting Frost: Those who ally themselves with the herd, if asked, but otherwise do not join fully or stay for periods of time before leaving and coming back. These members will be required to fight for the herd if requested or return with gifts/goods/supplies when coming back for temporary housing.

Limitations and Restrictions

The only real big no no is any taur sporting fire powers or fire curse/blessings as that is the enemy and actual flame is used as little as possible to get by in life.

This is of course U/C and will be expanded upon as need be.
