Aphorora Inn is a high class establishment that sees enough business during the concert to keep several other hotels running for an entire year. However the exorbitant prices also come with such luxury that those who can afford it never complain, and those that can not can only dream to be able to one day stay here.
The Everett siblings usually stayed here, allowing their spawn to do so as well.

Raeka Everett-Maris Status: Troubled.

It was late. Raeka had only managed to half drift off to sleep, but it wasn't much past one in the morning when he awoke in what seemed a cold sweat.
He had been lucky, he supposed. He had completely recovered and was here, now, lying in bed with Mai. But all the events that had led up to this mundane night were far from ordinary. And there was too much of it that bothered him. Or so he assumed that's why he couldn't sleep.
With as much restraint as he could manage to not disturb his Bae, he put his legs over the side of the bed as he sat up and leaned forward. He rested his head in his hands and took a haggard breath.
To some extent, everything felt odd. It was like the water in his body was drained and replaced with mercury. He seemed heavier but in a metaphysical way. If anything, since the events of The Fall, his body was certainly stronger. But with the lack of his sorcery...
He didn't know where things were anymore. He had come to this stupid city with everything figured out. But since then, Xaris told him he was possessed, it would make someone scared, but did she think that may have included him?
Yeah. He thought, going over the speech that succinctly told him that she believed in him. But what had it done to her? What happened to the rest of that night? Why did she give him Diablos, and most importantly, why did it work?
No, that wasn't what was most important. He lifted his head, twisting his torso enough to look at the presumably sleeping Mai. He had basically taken her mother out of action, and it was difficult to be the man he wanted to be when he felt he was the cause.
His petty anger had almost gotten himself killed, and it forced Mai into just several painful positions all at once. He vividly remembered first visiting her in the hospital. There had been shame, defeat, and despair all rolled up into the girl.
Looking back, he had only begun to feel the same when... The Nipal girl had entered his room and tried to kiss him? Raeka knew he had laid it on pretty well with the duet, but something in the back of his mind told him there was more to it.
Not that he could investigate. A good man couldn't haphazardly be around the girl who tried to kiss him. In hindsight, the whole thing was just stupid, and Xaris had the good sense to warn him before the performance, too. It was uncomfortable how much she knew about him. Things she shouldn't.
Despite all that. He was the one who had put all these events in motion that he knew had to have twisted Mai's emotions. Worse still forced her to swallow them because his dumbass was half dead, and now that he wasn't, he'd kind of been avoiding addressing it. He wasn't ready.
It was so unfair. He couldn't ask her to endure this bullshit anymore. Well. If she was willing to face it. He couldn't push her to deal with it either if she wasn't ready.
Rising to his feet, he walked around to her side of the bed. A smile grew on his face as he sat next to her. "How did I get so lucky?" He whispered, affectionately brushing a hand through her hair. His heart often still skipped a beat when he saw her. Two years had done nothing to diminish his passion for her.
They could figure this out. Together, nothing could beat them. But maybe it was time to take the initiative, and put his wanna-be detective skills to work and begin to piece together what the ******** was going on. He owed Xaris that much, and Mai didn't deserve to have anything else taken away due to some cabal of losers.

 Mai Zeigmus ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━═✥═━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ The past week had been hellish for Mai, especially the last three days. She couldn't catch a break here, and truth be told she wished that they could head back to Dollet and dance together. Something nice and away from all of this. She was fine with combat and warfare, but political attacks were another matter entirely. They were too serious for her liking, and Raeka being a target had brough a level of anxiety she had never felt before.
Xaris managed to have a quick recovery despite giving up her power over to Raeka, she was up and about the next day hard at work providing donations and material support to Unita from her company. She was so busy in fact that Mai didn't even have a chance to talk to her, and Raeka had been quiet about the whole ordeal. She was left frustrated thinking about Raeka's return to power, that form, Diablos. It wasn't hard to piece together that her mom had given up Diablos over to Raeka, but to what extent that had on her, Mai was clueless.
Whatever power it was, it was enough to make Raeka transform into that entity. Was that his full sorcerer form? He never had full wings before, but, in that form, they were fully present, as well as his monstrous demonic appearance that managed to wield the might and power of two GF's at once. That kind of thing was difficult to just ignore, but she also didn't want to press Raeka on the matter simply to give him a break. To go from being shot to transforming into whatever that was, she understood that he needed a day to just rest, and truth be told, so did she.
Their night together was spent silent, but embraced. For once, the exhaustion had finally taken its toll on her, barely having a decent night of rest for the past few days, and after witnessing Raeka's transformation, she felt comfortable enough to fall asleep. She doubt any foolish monster would dare try to pull another attack after such a display of raw power.
When she next awoke, it was to Raeka running his hand through her hair. A pleasant sensation to be awoken to, and one where she shifted to turn her head towards her lover. Her cybernetic eye came to life, its purple light emitting and signalling that she was operating it. Shifting her head, she leaned up towards him, gripping him by his arm with her left hand, sitting up to kiss his lips. "Getting ready to head out somewhere?" She asked him, since he decided to sit beside her rather than wake her right beside her.

The boy returned the kiss eagerly, his hand finding her waist and pulling her just a bit closer. "I am not going anywhere." He answered. No, he had no interest in leaving her alone this night. It would only feel like further betrayal on all the other things pulled this week.
"I couldn't sleep. This whole week has been such a whirlwind..." There were so many things he could say, but honestly, nothing seemed right. "...guess I thought I would admire you for a bit. Settle my thoughts." That sounded good, right? Didn't stop his guilt from bubbling up.
" But so much of this shitshow was my fault. I dropped my guard, I'm why your mom was hurt, I... I'm sorry hun. I put you through all that. s**t, I'm so dumb I'm dumping you on this on you and you just woke up."
He stood from the bed, "I can't be that selfish ever again. I can't hurt you like that again."

Mai Zeigmus ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━═✥═━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ She leaned into his kiss, gently running her hand up against his side and brushing it up all the way to his face, caressing his cheek lovingly. After he parted his lips from her and stood up, speaking his woes and worries to her, she sat up from the bed with a yawn and stretch. Rubbing her only eye, she spoke to him. "I don't blame you for any of that. This was supposed to be a vacation, what reason would you expect to get shot after a performance?" She asked as she got up from the bed, half naked, wearing nothing but a tank top and her underwear. She moved up to Raeka, wrapping her arms around his waist and pulled him into her, hugging him.
"The only thing that's bugging me is what's bothering you. Ever since we got to Unita, you've been in a bad mood, and then getting up in Rem's face, pinning her to the wall, and transforming into whatever that was a couple days ago, i'm honestly at a loss of what is happening with you." Her grip tightened, pressing herself a bit more tightly against him, pressing her head against his. "It's worrying me."

He stood awkwardly rigid in his embrace foe a moment, before lowering his head to her shoulder and returning the gesture. "I thought it was obvious..." Had he really never talked about this before in the last two years? Had he narrowly avoided the topic of his missing mother for so many years.
The bitterness in his voice was clear. "The Nipal family stole my mother from me. The queen b***h came in with her goons and for 'demilitarization' she had to go to Esthar holding." His embrace tightened. "I wanted to hurt them, Lloyd, Nona, Rem... Kalen even. The girl said the wrong thing, but I had the knife in. I was twisting it when..." He shook his head, going silent for a moment.
"I didn't know karma carried a long barrel." He shrugged. He didn't think there was much more to day. "Then... yeah, that transformation..." It had been clear to Mai he was stronger. Considering he was wearing even less than her right now, that he seemed sculpted like a statue of Adonis. The man always stayed in shape, but not like this. This was the picturesque muscularture that usually took a few days of dehydration.
"I don't know. Diablos and Cerberus call me my lord and sir, and my wounds healing themselves, and what happened to Koyuki. I may not be human anymore..."

Mai Zeigmus ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━═✥═━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ She hadn't said anything to him in regards to his change. She had noticed, and her scan on him indicated a major change in him that she had kept to herself. But now it felt like it was time to bring it up, after all this explaining going on. At least she felt like she was getting some bits and pieces of clarity now. Her expression eased up, and she gently stroked the back of his head, brushing her fingers through his hair.
She hadn't recalled a time where they talked about his family much. Most of their time was spent in the moment together, rarely caring to talk about their lives due to the politics that surrounded it. She rarely talked about her own mother, not that she had any problems with her, but it was a simple fact that the two preferred to focus on the now and present together more than anything. "I am sorry that your mother was taken from you." Was all she would say on that matter. It wasn't her place to speak on Maris, mostly because that woman was a touchy subject for her mother as well.
"I did scan you Raeka. You aren't human anymore, but you aren't a monster either." She revealed as she looked at him, gently placing her right hand on his hip. "You've become a guardian force."

While he had come to a unsavory realization that he may not exactly be human anymore, it was meant to just be a consideration. Not true. His mind paused for a moment, expecting a horrid wave of emotions. However nothing of the sort came. But then came the question, what about them? While his emotional temperament hadn't changed, and at least for now they were on the surface level compatible. But... could they have children?
If so, would they be human, or... what? Like the shuma? However the curiosity began to fade. It's not like they were trying to have kids right now. Right now they had each other, and anything else was a future Raeka problem. Which was probably for the better. He was a responsible guy.
"Well... heh, I didn't expect it to be true." He said, before locking lips with his lover again. "It didn't change us though." Which at the end if the day was ultimately mattered most. It was thus moment, just them.

Mai Zeigmus ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━═✥═━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ She held him tighter when he leaned back in for another kiss, returning his kiss in spades. While it did scare Mai that Raeka had become something else entirely, Raeka was still acting like Raeka, and as far as she could tell, he was still him. In the end that was all that mattered to her.
But after the kiss she pulled back slightly, keeping her arms around him. "We have to keep that in mind. It means that GF potions will only work for you, besides Cure spells. And... potentially have to be concerned about what that implicates." She said as she stared into his eyes, looking at him with both concern and love. In the end, it mattered not what form he took, as long as he was still himself, that was all she cared about.

"GF Returner too...." But that could also mean he couldn't die. At least in the conventional sense of the word. There was also thr possibility of him learning from the ability scrolls. It would be a wild day if he suddenly could start turning Monsters into cards off hand.
Catching her gaze, the fact there was concern that put a momentary pit in his stomach. Though he couldn't mainstay her having concerns and questions out of love. "What implications do you mean?" Was it some of the same ones he had, did she think of other things that had yet to even cross his mind.

It was good to know what they had on hand to help him, but when he asked about the implications, she went into further detail. "Well... you technically can junction with someone. Though, it is very weird that you can junction with other GFs as well. I don't know what could happen if you did try. I am kinda worried it would turn you into that monster form permanently if we tri. I don't want to smack a gift horse on the mouth just to see what would happen." She said as she held him so tight that he felt his legs leave the ground, on account of the fact that she was a bit bigger than him. The cybernetics definitely added to that grip strength as well.
"Plus you got a free super soldier makeover. I haven't seen you this ripped before." She teased him a bit, not minding to shift the topic away from seriousness to be more cute with him. At least this would let him know that she still very much cared and wanted to be with him, regardless of his condition.

So those were her concerns. Honestly, it never came up to him. From what his father had taught him, as a Sorcerer, he could junction himself or others to himself and ways that broke the typical rules anyway. He assumed that was how it was now with him being a Guardian Force.
"It would be pretty weird to be both your GF and bf anyways." Being lifted slightly off the ground. He could never complain about her holding him so tight. He grinned at her. There was vain satisfaction at being shredded all of a sudden. Raeka becoming even more of eye candy was probably hard for Mai.
Caught in Mai's inescapable grasp, he ran his hands down her back to her rear. "But y'know, I can think of alternative ways to junction. Raise our compatibility." That was a new euphemism.
Beyond the urges, his heart was listed that despite the changes, it didn't affect them. No, there seemed to be only thing that would damage them, and even then someone Xaris had known to redirect his intentions. He was a lucky man, there weren't many women like Mai in the world.
