The weather is turning but mother nature has one last hurrah in store - it seems she has mustered up a blizzard that's blown down from the mountains and over the majority of the Kawani lands. This is highly unusual for this time of year, it seems winter was not ready to let go! How does your soquili fair in this blizzard? Do they see the signs early and manage to avoid it completely? Do they seek shelter in time and wait it out? Do they find themselves stranded and in danger? Do they fend for themselves or do they help others around them?

One moment it was feeling like spring was around the river bend, and the next moment, it was a blizzard! Eirlys was used to the harsher temperatures, where it was difficult for anything to grow except for the mosses and lichens. Moss was hardy, she had ample experience dealing with moss. It was her favourite, which is why she often could be seen with moss draped along her flank.

Being familiar with the land, Eirlys knew the signs that a blizzard was fast approaching. She noticed it in the increasing gusts of wind, before the snow started to fall. The air seemed more brisk, cooler. With these signs, Eirlys knew she needed to take shelter. And fast.

When she first noticed the signs, she moved quickly through the land, calling out to anyone nearby who was willing to listen. She needed to get to a cave, somewhere she could find shelter in until the blizzard blew over. Eirlys knew of one cave in particular, it was one she used before.

The snow was falling more heavily now, Eirlys' body felt tired from the fast trotting she was doing but she knew she could not stop. Being in a blizzard could lead to injury or even death. Eirlys' hooves slipped a bit as she climbed a hill. This was the last part of her journey, for the cave was nestled in the hill, as if it was carved there by the gods themselves.

She huffed and puffed, gusts of frosty breath emitting from her mouth. "Almost there." She encouraged herself. "I can do this." And she did. She had made it. She sighed in relief as she entered the cave.

She was not alone. There were other Soquili and animals present. Eirlys was relieved so many had made it to safety. She walked passed them, nodding her head in greeting. She found a somewhat smooth surface and settled herself down on the ground. If her intuition was correct, they would be in here for awhile. She listened to the rustling sounds of the blizzard outside the cave, as she tried to catch her breath. The blizzard sounded as if it was growing even stronger, its rustling sounding like screeches.

She was safe. How grateful she was.
