Sharingan or Byakugan?

..i remember somewhere in the series saying: Hyuuga clan is the number one clan of Konoha .. (during the fight of naruto and Neji) .. how come Uchija is more famous than Hyuga...

..who'd be on the top (granting that Uchiha clan is still in full count)

..also which one is more powerful : the Sharingan or Byakugan

Sharingan can:
- copy jutsu
- drive u nuts just by looking you in the eye *hehe*
- if you know of others, please let us know

Byakugan can:
- see critical chakra paths
- (read mind?) ..insights

The only reason Hyuuga is top clan now is because Uchiha was wiped out by Itachi. I believe the Sharingan is more powerful. It allows you to not only copy your opponents moves, but you can also see what the opponent is going to do before they do it. The Sharingan has no weakness except for the obvious fact that it drains chakra, like everything in the show. The Byakugan can see long distances, has almost a 360 degree range of vision, and can see tenketsus . . . but it relies too heavily on plugging the tenketsus and it's strictly limited to close range combat. And btw, the Byakugan can't read the mind. I think you're thinking about the fight between Neiji and Hinata. The Byakugan can tell the smallest amount of detail from anything. Neiji was simply reading Hinata's behavior and psyching her out.

Sharingan IS better.

The Byakugan appeals to me more.

I can't really descibe why...but the Sharingan strikes me as a very agressive, in your face power while the Byakugan is more passive. I blame this more on the psychological effects. Mangekyou (can't be bothered to look it up right now) Sharingan deals in your face psychological damage. The mind insight of the Byakugan deals more subtle psychological damage. Sharingan favors the more standard way to fight. Byakugan favors the Huuga style. I kinda like being able to use a fighting style that very few people can use. Don't know...Byakugan seems more passive and the "passive but deadly" thing appeals to me.

That and the fact that I'd rather have light eyes then red ones.

Have you tried throwing things at him and make him dodge them? He should be able to dodge them cuz he knows what you are gonna do. blaugh

I've always been a Taijutsu person and the Byakugan just seems cooler with Taijutsu.

Also, I think it looks cooler.

That depends on what the fight is. If it is a sharingan user vs. a byakugan user, the sharingan user will most likely win, unless they decide to fight heavily in taijutsu instead of being smart and hanging back, to strike from a distance with ninjutsus or genjutsu. Overall, in a Sharingan vs. Byakugan fight, unless the Hyuuga blocks off the Uchiha's chakra flow quickly in close combat, the Sharingan user will win.

Even in the Hyuuga is skilled in ninjutsu and genjutsu, remember that the sharingan can see through things like that, at least to some degree, so the Uchiha has an advantage in that
1. He could see through the techniques
2. He could copy the techniques and throw them back at them

The only way I can see the Hyuuga as being better in combat is either they are either a very skilled tactician that could probably manage an Uchiha almost without needing the Byakugan, or if the Uchiha was quite inept in their use of the sharingan.

I think Byakugan is quite cool but my friend next to me thinks sharingan is better cause it looks cool but then again I agree with her.....lol
and didn't kakashi's sharingan an implant?
