SG1
~Peter DeLuise has directed a number of episodes, finding a way to appear in front of the camera each time (like Alfred Hitchcock). He has played a gate guard, a technician, etc.
~In several episodes Carter can be seen using a scanning device that is in actuality an unaltered Philips "Pronto" universal remote control. The half moon shaped section at the top is the infra-red emitter.
~This is the only television series currently endorsed and supported by the United States armed forces (particularly the Air Force).
~The character Jonas Quinn is from the country Kelowna on the planet Langara. Langara is a golf course where some of the producers and directors go to play golf. Kelowna is a town near Vancouver, BC, where the show is filmed.
~The prop used to portray the device which controls the Tok'ra memory recall device which looks like a "wand" is actually an electric nose hair trimmer and is used unaltered
~The on-set stargate prop is made out of plastic.
~Alexis Cruz (Skaara) and Erick Avari (Kasuf) are the only actors to appear in both Stargate (1994) and this television series.
~The "Tollan Homeworld" shows were shot at Simon Fraser University.
~The character 'Jack O'Neill' was ranked #10 in TV Guide's list of the "25 Greatest Sci-Fi Legends" (1 August 2004 issue).
~The Asgard are voiced by creative staff, cast and crew of the show. Thor is voiced by Michael Shanks, Heimdall is voiced by Teryl Rothery and both Loki and new Asgard Kvasir are voiced by Peter DeLuise.
~The show is filmed in and around Vancouver, Canada. Many of the minor characters (and the extras) are Vancouverites.
~Many of the extras portraying US Air Force personnel are in fact real US Air Force
~There are many references to The Simpsons, as Jack O'Neill's favorite television series, it is in fact Richard Dean Anderson's as well. In episode "Citizen Joe", Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer Simpson made a guest appearance as Joe Spencer. In turn, Richard Dean Anderson later made a guest appearance on The Simpsons.
Atlantis
~All of the Wraith males featured on the series are played by the same actor: James Lafazanos.
~The on-set Stargate is made out of rubber.
~The production crew actually have two Puddle Jumpers. The first is closed, and is used on location, and the second is an open Jumper that stays on set. The open jumper is used to film interior shots.
~Atlantis was originally intended to succeed Stargate SG-1, after its seventh season and a second feature movie. When SG-1 was renewed for an eighth season, the intended movie became the two-part episode "Lost City" and the setting of Stargate Atlantis was moved to the Pegasus galaxy.
~Atlantis contains more pop-culture (specifically science fiction) references than SG-1. Star Trek is the source of most of these allusions, but a few have been seen from other places, such as Star Wars and Back to the Future.
~The series is filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
~Of the five original cast members, Joe Flanigan is the only American. Torri Higginson and Rainbow Sun Francks are Canadian. Rachel Luttrell (born in Tanzania) and David Hewlett (born in England) were raised in Canada.
