I didn't write any of this. I just snagged it off a website.

The pace of the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryuu (Soaring Heaven's Honorable Blade Style) style of swordsmanship is extremely fast. The moves can be divided into four main parts. There are different names of moves in each part. Also to note: nearly every Hiten Mitsurugi technique has a variant, a second form that is similar yet distinctly different than the original. These variants are a nasty surprise to those who believe they have seen everything the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryuu has to offer.

The first part is called Ran Geki Jutsu, which means “to wield the sword to attack sequentially”. Moves that belong to Ran Geki Jutsu are:

Ryu Kan Sen (Dragon Rolling Flash):
A technique used once one has gotten beside an opponent, it involves a very powerful swing with the twist of your whole body, inflicting a direct blow under the skull from behind. Though not a sequential attack technique in and of itself, the Ryu Kan Sen belongs to Ran Geki Jutsu because of it’s flexibility, as it can be used as a lead-in to a multi-hit attack, or as the final blow in a multi-hit attack.

Ryu Kan Sen Tsumuji (Dragon Rolling Flash-Spin):
The Tsumuji is another variant of the Ryu Kan Sen. It begins by dashing into an opponent at such a tremendous speed that gravity seems to loose its grip on the user. Upon getting into position beside the opponent, an upside-down Ryu Kan Sen is performed. The damage is more powerful than Ryu Kan Sen, due to its speed and the increased twist. However, landing poses a problem due to that speed needing to be bled off. Because of the speed gained into order to begin the attack and the difficulty of the completion, this move cannot be used in a combination. Thus, the Ryu Kan Sen Tsumuji belongs to Totsu Shin Jutsu.

Ryu Kan Sen Arashi (Dragon Rolling Flash-Trap):
Ryu Kan Sen Arashi is a series of rapid front-flips straight at an opponent, sword held out so each flip adds another cut to the attack. It is similar to the Tsumuji, although the Arashi variant is more aggressive and damages through multiple hits.

Do Ryu Sen (Ground Dragon Flash):
A technique which involves striking the ground with the flat of the sword, pelting the opponent with a hail of broken rocks with the force of the explosion caused by the strike.

Ryu Sou Sen (Dragon Scale Flash):
This technique is a rapid series of slashes (in such a manner as to trace a sphere around the user) launched from different vectors and striking different targets on the opponent’s body, without giving the opponent the chance to counterattack. It is effective in dealing with those who will not succumb to a single blow.

Ryu Sou Sen Garami (Dragon Scale Flash-Bite):

Similar to Ryu Sou Sen, a rapid series of slashes launched from different vectors, except that all the blows strike at one chosen target on the opponent’s body.

The second part is called Totsu Shin Jutsu, it means “to attack immediately, with a single blow”. Techniques of this part are:

Ryu Tsui Sen (Dragon Hammer Flash):
This move is reminiscent of a Dragon diving down onto its enemy from above, and hammering them into the ground with its prodigious weight and the momentum of its descent.

Ryu Tsui Sen Zan (Dragon Hammer Flash-Fall):
Ryu Tsui Sen Zan is a variant of the Ryu Tsui Sen, a combination of an overhead Battoujutsu draw and the Ryu Tsui Sen’s already-formidable falling-hammer strike. It is a dangerous technique to use: if the user draws too early, their cut will miss, spinning them upside-down right onto their opponent’s blade; if the user draws too late, they will never complete their cut, as their opponent strikes first.

Ryu Sho Sen (Dragon Rising Flash):
This move is like a dragon raising its head into the air. While one hand remains on the hilt, the other is placed at the back of the blade, toward the tip; the user then pushes forward and/or up at the opponent with the middle of the blade. This attack strikes the opponent's vital points with the force of the jump, and can also be used to break paired-weapon attacks.

Ryu Tsui Sho Sen (Dragon Hammer Rising Flash):
This is a combination of Ryu Tsui Sen and Ryu Shou Sen. Upon completion of a Ryu Tsui Sen attack, a Ryu Sho Sen is performed immediately after, dealing twice the damage. It's an up-and-down attack. While not literally “a single blow”, this technique’s being a combination of two other moves in Totsu Shin Jutsu has led me to place it here as well.

The third part is called Battoujutsu (Instant-draw Technique); Battou - an instant sword draw. Jutsu - technique. In a stance form and waiting for an opponent with the correct timing, a powerful swing with the twist of the waist. It is the skill to attack by drawing the sword. The techniques in this part are:

Hi Ryu Sen (Flying Dragon Flash):
This move may be accomplished using the left hand only (as in the fight with Raijyuuta). As the user twists his/her body around, the sword is sprung from the sheath with the left hand coupled with the centrifugal force. The hilt of the sword is aimed and ‘shot’ at vulnerable areas on the opponent’s body, i.e. between the eyes.

Sou Ryu Sen (Double Dragon Flash):
The Sou Ryu Sen is a double attack with the sword and the sheath. From a Battoujutsu draw, should the initial strike be blocked or dodged, a second Battoujutsu with the sheath, gripped in the left hand, is used as a surprise follow-up strike at the opponent.

Sou Ryu Sen Igazuchi (Double Dragon Flash-Thunder):
The Igazuchi is a reversed Sou Ryu Sen. It appears to begin with the Battoujutsu draw of the Sou Ryu Sen; however, the sheath Battoujutsu, sword still in it, is used first! An opponent who has already seen the Sou Ryu Sen receives a nasty surprise when they find themselves blocking an attack from the sheath. The opponent thus put off-balance, the user then follows with the sword Battoujutsu, completing the attack.

Ryu Mei Sen - (Dragon Howl Strike)

Kuzu Ryu Sen (Nine-Headed Dragon Flash):
This technique actually belongs to Ran Geki Jutsu. It is taught as preparation for the learning of the succession technique. The technique itself is to wield the sword in all nine of the basic strikes of Kenjutsu, landing all nine strikes in exactly the same instant.

According to Hiko Seijuurou XIII, since this move is completely impossible to be dodged or blocked, the only way to defeat it is by making one's move before one's opponent uses the Kuzu Ryu Sen.

In each generation heritage of Hiten Mitsurugi Ryuu, the master is always killed by the student (the next inheritor) after passing on the most powerful skill:

Hiten Mitsurugi Ryuu-Ougi (Soaring Heaven's Honorable Blade Secret Technique):

Ama Kakeru Ryu no Hirameki (Soaring Heaven Dragon's Flash):
The succession technique, belonging to the Battoujutsu. The secret of the Ama Kakeru Ryu no Hirameki is revealed by Seijuurou after his last fight with Kenshin. Normally when using the Battoujutsu, the right leg is placed in front of the left leg so to avoid cutting one’s own leg (since the sword is at the left side). However, after Kenshin made that step with his right foot, he made a SECOND step at the very last possible moment. With his LEFT leg placed in front of his RIGHT leg before drawing his sword, the speed and power of the strike are brought up to its very maximum. Critical to this technique’s success is the calculation of the MOMENT of attack, and how best to angle the twist of his body in order to his opponent, not himself. To do this, he must possess a strong desire to live. To anyone watching, the details of this attack happen far to fast to see!
