I just googled "ancient mask" under an image search and tons of masks came up. I'm a little confused by what exactly you want to make, though?

Ooh, that reminds me of the song "Masquerade" from Phantom of the Opera, though it was set in France sweatdrop

Boom, baby. Reference books.

-Jowers, Sidney. Theatrical Costume, Masks, Make-up and Wigs. A Bibliography and Iconography.

-Kesler, Jackson. Theatrical Costume. A Guide to Information Sources.

And a website; it's even in your time period.
