I know that this is a tough topic right now for most, but I had to put something up about The Crocodile Hunter. I've watched so much of his stuff since I first saw him so long ago on the Discovery Channel.

You can answer the poll and/or write it out here in a post.

R.I.P Steve Irwin a.k.a. The Crocodile Hunter
1962 to 2006

Steve leaves behind his wife and two children. God rest his soul.

What I loved most about Steve Irwin was the fact that he was so personable. He wanted to make his voice heard, because he wanted everyone to learn about all those different animals. It's a terrible shame that he lost his life just three days ago. It was such a shock for me to hear on the television. It's so sad, but he will live on through his quirky words, and awesome telecasts/episodes. RIP Steve! God bless!

I used to watch his show a lot. He was real cool. I love animals, always have, I want to be a vet. so he was like a role model in a way because he was out there all the time in the most exotic places, close up with some kickass animals. He was different by far than most other documentary hosts. He did make it fun and personal. You did feel like you knew him and his family, and like you were in the truck right beside him.

Yeah, I'm posting here again, so sue me. I just wanted to say that I miss Steve Irwin. I never got the chance to meet him, though I wish I could have. I was watching Larry King Live last night, because I was flipping through channels, and they were talking about Steve Irwin. And there was this woman in Australia that has been bashing Steve Irwin. Saying that he was an embarrasment to Australia, that he NEVER showed respect to animals, and that he used animals for exploitation. I want to just yell and scream at this woman! Her name is Germaine Greeer. Some stupid author in Australia. She says that there are others that feel the same way, though she was asked to name one person that came out and agreed with her and all she said was "Oh there's others alright" And she wouldn't name one. So she's either lying, or just trying to make it seem like there are people that didn't like the Croc Hunter. I was getting choked up because the guy who was with him on Monday's shoot for the documentary he was doing, and where he was killed was going to cry. There were a few times, too. And I agree that she shouldn't be given the time of day because of what she has said.

I used to watch his show all the time, and still catch it on the Animal Planet. He is such an inspiration, and I love how full of life he was. He was just so amazing. God Bless him and his family.

Yeah, I'm glad I didn't see that, 'cuz I'd've gotten real pissed. Some chick said that in one of the memorial threads too and it angered me. Keep them thoughts to yourself and let the rest of us grieve. I wanted to go to his zoo one day and meet him and his family too. It's all just awful.

I read a few days ago that he was buried at the zoo! Isn't that awesome? His family was given permission to do so. I think that's incredible. I think he wanted it that way. And it's in the works to have a statue put up in the zoo for the public. I think that's great! One day, I want to go to Australia, and his zoo is the first on my to do list while I'm there. smile

Did anyone happen to see the interview Terri Irwin did with Barbara Walters on 20/20 a couple weeks ago? If you did, I have to ask if you cried as much as I did. It was so heartfelt and very touching. This world has lost a man that will live on forever because of his zoo. He was the most brilliant man I've ever seen. He was one of those people that you could feel comfortable with, even if you never met him. It has been my goal to go to Australia Zoo...and when I get there, I am most definitely paying my respects to the most enthusiastic man on Earth - Steve Irwin. God bless ya mate.

And always remember...

CROCS RULE!

I did see bits and pieces of that interview. It was sad, but I didn't cry.
