I think she is an amazing author, but I'm too attached to this series, currently, and am still working my way through as many as the Dragonriders books as I can find, so... I have yet to check out her other books.
They're really good, though. heart
I highly reccomend them, if you like the fantasy genre, specifically, books involving dragons.

I read alot of the fantasy series (she later wrote a prequal series that was more sci-fi, about when they arrived on the planet) some years ago. I really enjoyed it at the time, so it's a series I'm hoping to own and read agian some day. I would highly recomend it to either fantasy or sci-fi fans, because it's set in a world where 'magical' creatures exist, but is still ruled by the laws of science.

I've read a bunch of Anne's books from several of her series. I'm pretty sure I've read all of the Pern series that's out right now, and they were FANTASTIC! biggrin

Didn't I make a topic like this? whee This one is much more informative though...

I really liked the first three. heart

She writes the kind of books that make you want to live in them. I love that!

The unfortunate truth about Anne McCaffrey is that she writes one really good book, only to follow it with several mediocre sequels. This is not an uncommon trap for authors to fall into; Orson Scott Card is another example.
