"Returns to fight Kenshin?" I assume you mean after their first fight in volume 7?
They never fight again. They fight together, on the same side. At the very end Kenshin offers Saitou the opportunity to fight him one last time, but Saitou rejects it. I don't want to give away the reason though, go buy yourself a copy of volume 28.

Unless there is something in the Anime that isn't in the manga, they only fight once outside of volume 7, like was said before. circumstances force them to fight alongside each other during both the Kyoto and Jinchu arcs. (much to sano's displeasure. lol )

Yes he DOES come back, many times in fact, to help Kenshin fight Enishi. Post-Kyoto in the anime is a piece of crap, but the post-Kyoto manga is extremely good. And Saitou is in it. I don't know why people like him (personally he pisses me off) but if Saitou fans want good Saitou moments, check out those later volumes.

o_O Doesn't he come back in the anime too? Or am I just hallucination? sweatdrop
Either way, I'm more familiar with the manga; in which, he DOES come back. In a blaze of glory no less (sort of xd )

Nope. Kenshin challenges him again in the manga, but he declines since he thinks Kenshin has gone soft.
