And why you ask?

Because it contains folate, and only breads and cereals are allowed to contain folate in the USA.

Folate in America is only allowed to be sold if it's in breads and cereals. Here it's in lots of things - vegemite, milo, actavite, etc. It's a very important thing to be in your diet! Pregnant women who don't eat enough folate are more likely to have a baby with spina bifida! <******** dumb Americans. Everything I learn about them just makes them seem to be going further and furhter backward.

Actually, there legislature just requires all flours and cereals to be fortified with Folate. Although not specficially mentioned, some people have taken on to thinking that this then excludes other products from containing fortified Folate, which I guess Vegemite must have.

However, Vegemite isn't really considered contraband, it's obviously just some retards who've been missinterpreting the legislation.

Well that's what I heard. But pretty much too much of anything can cause some form of irregularity. Quite possibly an increased amount of folate may lead to a degeneration is cell growth.

If you have a low blood folate count you are actually more at risk of ******** Scott!! You're a uni student!!! Back up your facts!!! Don't go telling everyone that something that is good in helping to fight cancer is actually something that causes it!
