I'm leaving for the Air Force. I'm going to be shipped out on the 21st so I'm limited on time here in my favorite guild. I'm not gonna deny that I'm nervous. I don't know when the next time it'll be I'll be on Gaia... however many months.
I'm gonna be in San Antonio, Texas for basic until Jan. 5th, and afterwards I'll be in Ft. Meade, Maryland for at least twenty weeks, and then I don't know where I'll go... though I went to this psychic last week who is known for being the best in the state and she told me I'll be in Europe, most likely Germany, in 2008 for eight months. She also told me that I'll be in no serious injuries in the military, and even said I'll find a dark haired guy who'll be my husband within three years... okay, rambling.
Anyway, even with her reassurance, I'm still nervous. All I'd like to say is that I'd like your support and wishes. heart

Okay... my grandpa passed away last sunday morning... for this, we're having his funeral this tuesday so family from Maine and Quebec have time to come down here. I told my recruiter this and because of the postponing I won't be able to go to basic until march or april... (smacks head against hard surface)

Alright, NOW I'm leaving. I'm shipping off Tuesday morning (the 20th), and I won't be able to find myself on Gaia until mid/late-May. I'll miss you my Gaians! heart

Wow, it'll be such a neat adventure! That's one of the great perks of being in the military (particularly the Navy, but other branches get this too) is the ability to do world travel where otherwise it wouldn't be financially feasable. You'll get to experience so many awesome things! Foreign travel really puts a whole new perspective on the world; the more places the greater the perspective. So many new things you'll get to discover! New great cuisines from foreign lands... observation of other cultures... man, you should consider yourself fortunate! There's no better time in life to do something like this! whee

Good luck with the Air Force and thank you for being in the military. ^_^ My younger brother (21) is joining the Air Force too and is just waiting to go to basic. Coming from a family of military, I have a great respect for your choice.

Its ok to have nerves. Just a warning though. Do not try and set things in stone with your future before you leave. Its great you went to a psychic to ask about your future but My suggestion also is to not allow that reasding to dictate your life. =) Enjoy the trip and Take it for whats its worth. The internet will be h ere when you get back, Go take an adventure.

Yeah, I understand that.

Actually, as of now, I'm postponing my shipping for a week. my grandpa is in the hospital and isn't going to make it, and the night after he went to the hospital my grandma ended up having congested heart failure (which I believe ended up getting triggered by the stress) and it looks bad for her too. On top of that, my grandpa has ulsheimers so whenever he is awake he acts violent, which is literally the complete opposite of him. And tonight my grandma is having open heart surgery. So I'm just gonna post-pone it a week, because if something happens this weekend I won't be able to go to the funeral otherwise. I'm not delaying it anymore than that though, so if something is going to happen I'm hoping it'd be sooner than later. sad

While this wars are horrible, I fully believe in supporting the men and women who have gone over there. I guess it comes from having a grandfather who's retired from them.
