Do you think killing criminals is
  Just. They deserve it.

mmm, it's about this guy named Raito who finds a notebook (the Death Note) that can kill people by writing their names in it. It's actually the notebook of a shinigami named Ryuk, but since it's in the human world now, it belongs to Raito. He decides to rid the world of evil by killing off all the criminals, while Ryuk just watches (and he is very entertained by humans LOL)

Evetually the international police realizes that a whole bunch of criminals are just dropping dead, so they get the world's greatest detective, L, to catch the killer. So now L and Raito are trying to find each other and destroy each other ^^

kewl, no? LOL
