recycling

so I just got some recycled silk yarn from a little shop down town, its this really funky yarn that has been recycled from old kimono's and silk flore mats and hand spun, its all these crazy colors like blue, green, yellow, and a lot of red.
so I was wondering if any of you have come acrost anything like this... I know my boss said that she got some yarn that was recycled from jeans.

I've seen it before in a shop that sells cultural items like clothes from the east etc. The only pattern I know of that calls for it is a purse though sweatdrop

I wouldn't use it for real patterns, but just for crazy things.
I'm making it into a scarf for my teacher, there's so much story behind it that I just know she'll love it. 3nodding

well it is silk, so be careful

There are actually a lot of places that sell recycled silk yarn. Most times it's made from old sari's.
