I am knitting these socks, and I'm up to the toe. The phrase "work even" is in there quite a bit, and I don't really know what it means. Can anyone explain it to me so that I can finish my sock? crying

I think it means to knit a row without doing any decreases or increases...just knit normal

That's kind of what I thought, but I'm not sure if I should continue the slip stitches every other row at the end of needle 1 and beginning of needle 4. It's not like those are increases and decreases.

Work even = continue as you were, following whatever stitch pattern you've been given, until peice measures whatever length they specify

I would assume to keep putting the slip stitches at the ends

Ah, okay. I guess I'll keep that in mind for the next pair. I decided just to knit straight through, aside from the decreases. I've only finished one sock so far, but I'd like them to match as much as possible, so I'll be doing the same for the second one.
