So, I just saw the raw and read the translation from what I'm told is a pretty legit source - or so I see since tons of people use that one.
And whoa.
We see Kakashi's mask removed (according to a one shot that either is a mess up or really is a distant shot of his mask removed)
Hidan and Shikamaru alone -- and a taste of blood.
Ino and Chouji... still not doing much yet. I hope that they'll have their shot either when Hidan is finished or something.

Edit Just read that "There won't be a chapter next week but in two weeks ;_;" Don't know if that's true or not, but it would make sense. Just thought I'd put this out there if others didn't know.

I* really liked this chapter up until the last two pages. Blood holding capsule? They didn't exactly say how it worked or anything, but it sounds really retarded 7_7
I liked how worn Kakashi looked during this chapter, and OH MY GOD HE USED ANOTHER JUTSU finally.
Of course, Ino and Chouji did nothing, which... I mean really. They just hung out and screamed SENSEI! the whole time.
Taking Hidan away from Kakuzu was a good idea, and hopefully Shikamaru will cut his head off, get seriously injured, and get all healed up in Konoha per usual Naruto storyline. Although I thought it would be really cool if he actually got hurt by Hidan, cut his head off, and then died. That would be so dramatic and awesome...
But gah, he didn't even get hurt (or something?). Hopefully they'll explain those blood capsules next chapter.
Kakuzu's an old mofo. I didn't think Waterfall was around when Konoha was first created, though. Didn't they say they were newer villages during the chuunin exams? D:

WTF? How'd it come out a day early? That hasn't happened for years.
Goddamn it! Shikamaru's dying... He god shanked. At least he's acting like it. He's always been quite the possum. But... crying Hidan hit him in... I can't tell... gonk I didn't think it would hit me this bad. He looks determined. Ready to take him out but... He's going to die in the process...
Way to depress me for a week, Kishimoto.
As far as dialog, I have NO idea. I've only seen the raw.
I just hope your right, Verd. He obviously wasn't stabbed in the heart because he's still alive. He was stunned. Hidan probably distastes him for understanding his weakness... a slow painful death he had planned... as usual Shikamaru was underestimated, but after such a blow... I don't see how he could make it...
The chapter played ALMOST exactly how I thought it would. This "blood capsule" May be what saves Shikamaru's life... But I knew Shikamaru would get just a little cut, which would escalate to his demise. Let's hope I was wrong... Killing off my favorite characters wasn't what I had in mind. gonk
Without the text, I don't have any idea. We didn't see any blood spraying from his gut, but he at least pretended to feel pain... Please be another trick. crying
Kishimoto, SURPRISE us. Don't make it the realistic, obvious answer. Make something stupid happen to save them as usual. gonk And, Kakashi's mask off? The chapter I read must be missing a page. I didn't see that. crying
As for Ino and Chouji, if they're any friends of his, they wouldn't watch him die. As a team member, I'd gladly take his place in the line of fire. That's their job. To conserve the team. A bigger guy like Chouji could lose more blood. A smaller guy Shikamaru would bleed out in a couple hours. Assuming they're not exactly close to Konoha...

I think the blood capsules will prevent them from dying right now. I don't know about Shikamaru, because he did get cut in the face, but maybe he stuck himself afterwards or something. They sound like a really, really dumb idea. Maybe Kishimoto couldn't think of a way for them to win or something?
Anyways, I don't think Shikamaru's going to die, but I would be really impressed if he did.

Ino and Chouji have mastered Sakura's old jutsu, apparently. "Sack of potatoes-no-jutsu". Feared by anyone with a starch allergy, or sensitive ears (all that screamin', you know).

Damn, I'm so... EXCITED!! MY HEAD'S SPINNING... how the hell did he come up with a plan like that?! And how did... Kakuzu's blood come out of HIS cheek? Is the capsule some sort of curse that gives you someone else's blood? Or does it disguise your blood as someone else's...
Oh my god... He was playing POSSUM!! xd That's the Shikamaru we all know!

There is no "safety" with them. In some cases, it is better to not get "in the way", but I don't know what Chouji and Ino were told nor what they're planning.
