If you mean a replacement for "you" especially after words that end with "t", then I have voted correctly. Hooray?

Yes, I think that's what she meant. E.g. "I'm down wit chu!" (that was horribly embarassing).

I, too, hate it sweatdrop Although I can't say I really think about it that often. The main language of the country I reside in is not English, and when people here do speak English its definately not American slang.

For the slower of us here..."Chu" is a form of "you". It's ghetto-speak.

Here I thought a Chu was a strange gell like creature coming in many diferent colors. I also thought that when you drink the jelly of a Red Chu it would heal your wounds and if you drink the jelly of Green Chus it restores your magic...

Ah well.... Maybe I'm wrong....

When I first read the word "chu" in this thread, my brain immediately went into "too much anime" mode. I thought you were talking about the Japanese "chu", wich I think means "kiss". It doesn't annoy me in Japanese, as it's a real word, but when they use it to replace "you", that does get on my nerves...

Ooh, I bit you. Sorry.

According to my Martin's pocket-sized Japanese-Engrish Dictionary, chu means middle or medium, and cho means intestines. Or butterfly. Unfortunately, I don't think Cho was Japanese.

Chu is Japanese onomatopoeia for the sound of a kiss. It doesn't literally translate.
