Color Blind By Anthony Davis
I am a Racist A Racist It used to be thought that there was only one kind of racist But now there are many There are racists who think that people of all other races are out to get them because they are of another race There are those who just hate people because they are simply different There are those who hate their own race and try to adopt the culture of other races because they have been led to believe that all of the problems of other races are caused by their own race There are those who cannot see past what has happened to their race in the past and therefore blame all people of the race that caused these happenings And then there are those who would recognize equality for all races and peoples But still think in terms of color I am one of these people Some of my best friends are of other races But I think of them in just that way Of another race I truly believe they are completely equal to me And I to them But I still see colors Eventually people of all races will become this way and society will move no further We will believe in an all-equal world But we will still see colors We will still characterize people based on their differences Unless we become color blind That is the goal I wish for myself in life I wish this for my friends in life But I cannot speak for them or anyone else but myself The world must become color blind Or we will never become one people We will never unify Wars will still be fought People will still be murdered by the thousands And everyone will still be of another race Unless we all become Color Blind
