Do Australian's celebrate Australia Day???

My family never has, and I'm born and bred in this country. I was talking to my mum about this, and we came to the conclusion that if our family (who are 5th/6th generation Aussie) had to undergo a test to enter our country we would fail miserably.

Religious holidays we celebrate but never the secular holidays. What's people's opinoins on this?

i think that by doing what you want on australia day is what makes you aussie....

even though you dont go around preaching what aussies have done in the past to allow you such freadom, by using it makes it all worth it.

and as long as you remember that you have an extra day of work does that. xd

*nods* yeah I agree for the past 2 yrs ive been on camp during aussie day!
Last year we went jetty Jumping and had a BBQ and i got badly Sunburnt, this year we have activities! and a BBQ!
^w^ Great Fun wonder what ill do ext year Probly have my mates arround for some backyard Cricket a few Cold Ones and a BBQ XD

A lot of people seem to take it too far now.
