It expresses the photographers need for adventure. The bridge looks very week, as it flows across forest. As people take the risk to cross it, the photographer gains a great ambition to join them in adventure.

That is just my guess.

My mind pictures a vast darkness below them, the light of the sun barely touching the ground floor. The tall treetops and the foliage right below are the only places with sufficient light for human sight. I imagine a huge civilization living in this large forest, too disgusted by the outside world to leave.
