Dragons

Magnificent creatures,
dragons are.
Fierce fighters,
powerful allies,
formidable foes.
Beautiful and deadly,
having many different colors.

They come in different shapes and sizes,
some can be quite nice.
Flying high in the sky,
looking at the ground below.
The dragon spots its prey far below,
sensing the danger was near.
The deer runs to find safety,
only to find itself trapped in the dragon's jaws.

The flying predator,
with flames coming from the mouth.
The flames coming in different colors,
depending on the dragon's color.
Hatching bigger than most hatchlings,
and growing bigger still.
Born to be a hunter,
the ruler of the skies.
Growing to an old age,
far wiser than any other creature.
Mythical creatures held in reverie,
are the magnificent dragons.

Quite good. It was a bit simple, but aren't all poems from time to time? smile It's not a masterpiece, but it's still engaging and well thought through.

It actually only took me about five to ten minutes to write this. I had started it different before, but then I ended up changing it because it wouldn't work out right and just sounded funny. Most of my poems didn't take me long to write. I will post more up soon hopefully.
