Kurenai was married to Asuma, and is having a child.
The king is confirmed to be the next generation of Konoha's ninja (like Kurenai's baby).
Shikamaru quits smoking.
Kakashi kills Kakuzu.
Shikamaru vows to become just like Asuma and protect Kurenai and her baby (LOL CAN I CALL 'EM OR CAN I CALL 'EM).
Shikaku beats Shikamaru at Shougi.
Kakashi thinks Naruto is stronger than him.
Sasuke defeats a bajillion ninjas, but doesn't actually kill any of them. Orochimaru thinks he's too soft.

And, actually, I don't mind. Whoo, single mother Kurenai! Hurrah for angst fodder and for a strong woman taking care of her family!
Seriously. I'm not a big fan of babies but this we kinda-sorta had forshadowing for, what with the "these two are dating" type of thing going on between her and Asuma. Kurenai is an adult (as much as anyone is in Naruto) and if she obviously wasn't unhappy about having a kid. *shrug* Good for her?
I'll only start getting peeved about the baby thing if everyone has a sprogg at the end of Naruto, like in that awful Digimon season finale. For now, it's just a plot point.
But I do agree that Kishimoto has a tendancy to rely on the girl = white mage formula. Oh, TenTen. I might hate your hairstyle, but I'm begining to see your appeal. You, at least, get to throw pointy things and kick a** heart
(and I'll always love you, Ino, even if you betrayed me!)

I knew Sasuke had to start killing at some point. Nice to see I was proven right- and so quickly, too. Guess Kishi's gotta grind into us how Special Bad a** Sasuke is.

Guess Kishi's gotta grind into us how Special Bad a** Sasuke is. In a way I wish he would, since Kishi's always been like SASUKE IS BADASS!!!@121 and then Sasuke does...nothing to prove it. But at the same time it would be an interesting twist if he had like a weird aversion to killing his enemies and Naruto didn't. But that won't happen, of course.

I really hope Hinata has turned into a insane fighter, just if she's a healer ******** that. Plus I'd love it if she left all the people who though she sucked in the dust. I mean, yeah she got knida owned by Neji......but that's cause he's ******** Neji. Neji could have handed everyone except maybe Shino their a** on that floor at that time. I mean naruto won because he learned to use the fox charka, which he didn't have at that time and lets be honost, no one in that tourny except Gaara could have competed with that so it doesn't really prove anything. Anyway, back to my point that she was beat by neji, but still put up a good fight. (as in, Neji didn't just go wam-bam/ thank you mam'm and drop her in 2 seconds). They call her a failure because they compare her to other Huuyga, kinda like Obito was looked at poorly even though he was a chuunin at like 10. So she probably had more skill than the show let on. Plus, maybe now that Neji isn't a d**k he could have helped her train since he's all like ' I'm so bad a** even the clan leader bows before my pwn-ness'. Course Shino was the only other of the original 4 teams besides Neji to become a jonin as of yet, so she'll probably still be over shadowed even if she is a lot better.

No way. Neji = Jounin, Hinata = Chunnin. Yes Hinata is cute and cuddly and looks danmed sexy in her oversized parka post timeskip, but she's not Destiny Girl. Though she might make great strides (and yes, as we are all fearing, she's probably gone medic nin on us, what with her Special Healing Salve of Lurve in pre-timeskip) in her ninja skills, she hasn't acheived the skill to recieve the next rank up. Not in attitude, not in cleverness, and not in outright power. Thus, she is not better than Neji.

I never said better than neji, i made a point to say that she was beaten by neji, something pretty much any of the other genin would have had happen to them if they had fought him during the tournament. Well, kinda. Did I not speculate that Kishi would might not have Sasuke killing anyone because that would make him irridemable? Mind you, Sasuke is still in the runing to be First of the Konoha Three to kill someone. Naruto, I'm starting to fear, will never kill anyone.
And of course, Kakashi takes out the trash. *sigh* Boo. How. . . utterly lame. They're supposed to ba all grown up now, Kishi! So let them get their hands dirty, ok? Make with the stabbi stabbi. *grumble grumble*
Also, I'm peeved that Kurenai was married to Asuma, and that Shikamaru has decided to play Man of the House with her. As amusing as Pimp!Shikamaru is, it ticks me off that I lost both pre-marital sex!Kurenai AND strong single mother!Kurenai.
(Also, re Sasuke being soft: There's gotta be something wrong with Orochimaru. A toungue like that, and all teh forbidden jutsu in teh worlde, and he still can't make Sasuke hard? Shameful.)
