Ya, the clan is a group of people who share the same traits. Normally the clan name would be in front of the real name. (like Uchiha Sasuke, Hatake Kakashi, or Nara Shikamaru.)

All of these clans have certain attributes or special attacks. (kaguya=pullling bones out of your body and using them as any weapon possible, Aburame=controling bugs that live inside your body, Yamanaka=possessing a person and controling them.)
