I bought a new book a little while ago called AlternaCrafts by Jessica Vitkus and I made my mom a really cool bracelet that I just had to show you all!!!
It is macramed and made from washers and beads
The clasp is made from a nut

Yay, I tried macrame for a while in middle school. My magnum opus was a hanging plant holder that I gave my father for father's day. Probably not the most appropriate gift for him, but he still hung it up!
I really like the rainbow beads inside the washers. I bet the washers are cold when you first put in on. Do they warm up nicely as you wear it?
Thats great, i'll have to try it out for my friend (yes, you, rheane)... makes me think of her. 3nodding

~ While I was at work today, I was reading what one of my bosses had said in the craft section of the newspaper. That even macrame was making a come back, I just snickered and thought of the 60's/70's. Seriously though this is a really fun, modern interpretation of the medium. I'm impressed. I never thought macrame could be something nice.
I hope that your mum loved this. I certaintly do. ~

Oooh, that's great, I love it! I'm a sucker for any jewery that includes "hardware" and your bracelet looks really lovely.
I'm inspired smile

That bracelet is great. I have a couple of bead magazines with projects that use hardware in them, but I'm pretty sure they didn't also use macrame. I wish I had time to play with this idea.
