Original Emo

Yes, my fellow Alt. Music enthustiest's there used to be a time in the 80's when emo wasn't derogitory. When emo wasn't cut your wrists and cry. When emo was Emotional Hardcore. Well, guess what? I miss those days when hawthorne hights wasn't around. Anyways, just wondering if anybody misses those original days. Some original emo bands back in the day include

Fugazi
Sunny Day Real Estate (came later but still ******** rock)
Embrace
Rites of Spring
One Last Wish
Beefeater
Dag Nasty
Husker Du

(notice almost everything is off Dischord Records)

and if you like regular emo, fine. I just like the original. I might make an original emo guild if this gets large enough.

I know, it's hard to get a list of every original emo band.

I just always liked it. In fact, my fav. minor threat song is called salad days when they started moving more towards an emo sound.

I love Hüsker Dü and Fugazi. Those are great bands.

I've heard so much about these bands but never actually heard them. Rites of Spring is the band I hear most about. I went to youdontknowemo.com and ********, I don't understand why people are mad at the bands now considered emo, an example is that My Chemical Romance is being called emo, even though they don't want to be called emo because that's not what they are. So now, alot of people are hating MCR, simply because they know they're not emo.
