My friends and I text each other a lot, and my two friends are big "txt tlkrs" And one time I was texting my friend when all of a sudden they texting back and I had no idea what they were talking about. I had to call them up and ask them what happened because I couldn't understand what they were writing I got scared. Yeah I am the worried one of me and my friends... Actually what she said was "Going to Starbucks Talk to you Later" I laughed so hard. After that my friend spelt her words out more.

There is a good reason to use "txt" in text messaging. My phone charges one cent per word. I use understandable "txt", and it does save time and money. Maybe that is what your friend was doing?

Most likely. I accept text messaging txt tlk, but it should at least be coherent in some way.
