Creators

The Novel
Kyoichi Katayama was born in 1959 in Ehime Prefecture. Currently resides in Fukuoka. After graduating from Kyushu University, Katayama made his literary debut in 1986 with Kehai (Sign), which won the Bungakkai newcomers award. Katayama's novel, Sekai no Chushin de Ai o Sakebu (released in English as Socrates in Love) was a national phenomenon and became the all-time best selling novel in Japan.

The Manga
Kazumi Kazui is a native of Aichi Prefecture, Kazui made her debut in 2000 in a special edition of Petit Comic with Watashi no Iru Basho (The Place Where I Am).
