The Main roleplays of the guild will take please within the city of Vlos'Ultrinnan . Vlos'Ultrinnan is a fairly large Drow city withen the Underdark with nearly 25,000 Drow inhabitants, as well as a with many times that number of goblins, kobolds, and spiders. It also hosts a various amount of human, orc, and elf slaves, all of which are closely watched by their respective owners, and none of which are safe.

The Society of the Drow is dominated by females who are the head of their particular noble house, or Matron. The Drow live by the simple ,yet brutal, idea that only the strongest, most ruthless, will survive.

Families of nobility (the ranking class) are grouped into Houses.

Inner House Rankings

A house consists of, in the order of rank, as follows:

1.A ruling Matron Mother.
2.The Matron’s first daughter.
3.Any daughters in birth order that are in training to become priestesses, or are priestesses.
4.Any daughters in birth order not in training.
5.Any priestesses not of the same family.
6.The Elderboy, first son of the Matron.
7.The Secondboy, the Matron’s second son. The third son born is sacrificed to Lloth at birth, unless one of the first two sons die before he is born.
8.The Patron, the Matron’s current lover.
9.The House Mage, if none of the sons has taken the position.
10.The Weapons Master or Trainer.
11.Mages hired inot the house for their magical prowess
12.Warriors hired or captured into the house, mainly for their swordsmanship
13.Any slaves or workers, including orcs, dwarves, humans, elves, goblins, kobolds, or gnolls

Societal house rankings

All Drow houses are ranked by number. The newer houses have the highest number. As houses are attacked and destroyed by other houses each house below it improves its ranking by one. The lower number of the Drow house within a particular city, the more powerfull it is.

The Matrons of the top eight houses sit upon a secretive ruling council. Together they plot and scheme against all and each other, helping each other only if it will further their own plans

Places within the Roleplay

1. Outskirts- These are the more dangerous Areas of the underdark, outside of the cities. Various underdark beasts lurk these caverns, as well as the occasiona drow patrol.

2.Specfic houses- The various members of a particular house can freely come and go within their respective house

3.Market Place- Where all goods and services can be bought or sold. These include weapons, taverns, slaves, and various buisnesses of entertainment.

4.The Pit- One of the Main passtimes of (()) is the pit. The Various Drow nobles often force their best slaves to fight in the pit against many beings, including other slaves. Occasionally a Matron will force Members of her house, most often the weapon master, to come fight in the pit. This is the most profitable buisness in (()) and is by far the most popular passtime.

I should like to add some pieces of information reguarding Drow culture. I shall try and clear and concise.

Physical Appearance/Attributes of the Drow

All Drow have white hair and jet black skin. Eye color ranges from red to yellow to green (though are a very few eceptions...). They have infared capabillities in their eyes, though it makes a tell tale red glow when they use it and it takes a few seconds for the eyes to adjust to the switch- like a human moving from a bright lit room to a dark room- so it can be inconvient durring battles. Many creatures can mask their heat signatures making it dangerous to use infared and the glow of the eyes marks a drow clearly to any predators. Drow are mostly thin with angular facial features. They wear very light armor and always in black clothes- sort of like millitary camo. They are born with an innate abillity to levate and create globes of pure darkess- though both require intense focus to activate and control. Their senses are far keener than a human's.

Rank by Birth?

All drow are born with an understanding that being born male is a disgrace. Females are the favored gender and even the lowest ranked female of a house is considered of higher rank than the highest ranking male. Killing a female is a crime while killing male is considered... "Jivvin!" as a female might put it, or "Fun!".

Brief History of the Drow

In ancient times, Drow and surfaces elves- called faerie eles by the drow- once lived together on the surface. Eventually the Dark and light elves met conflict and war ending with the banishment of the drow to the Underdark where they remain now. As revenge, the drow often plan raids on the surface elves, slaughtering them without remorse.

The Blooding

A ritual taking place when a young drow reaches their Ascharlexten Decade-which is more or less, like our own 'begining of puberty'. During this ritual, the young drow (usually 12-16 years old) must hunt down prey selected by the Matron of the house they recieve their formal training from and kill it. This is always their first kill and signifies the change from 'child' to 'Drow'. Many Bloodings are combined with surface raids allowing the young drow to hunt faerie elves for their first kill.

Magic Training

Most young Drow do not begin their magic training until ages 12-14 as it is extremely dangerous and the magic skills are not developed far enough until that point. They must be taught High Drow runes and language first and are drilled harshly on pronunciation and memorization.

Martial Training

Young Drow males begin their martial as soon as they are old enough to walk. Females start later if they show little magic promise or show lots of physical promise (as females are usually inlined towards the role of priestess of Loth). They train with house weapons master until the Blooding ceremony has been completed, then they attend an academy.

The Academys

Fighting academies teach students about battle- they are expected to already know how to use a weapon. Fight schools often hold competions in wich all the students are loosed in the training grounds and and ordered to hunt- but only disable- each other. The winner gets a rank somewhat equivalent to "Head Child" for their age group. Younger students work in pairs during their hunts while older hunts are completely solo and much more serious.

Magic academies teach students all about the arcane. They begin reding books that are not enchanted to glow- there for they are all desensatized to light with candles and other light. Student of high skill may eventually become apprentaces to high ranking teachers.

Religious academies teach students the ways of Loth. The learn to be priestesses and are traind in the use of the venomous snake headed whips. Priestesses have 3 headed whips while High Priestesses have 6 heads, the venom paralizes and the bite alone is painful enough to stun prey. They also learn clerical magics- healings, transformations, etc. This school is for females only.

(If anyone is in need of any tid bit of information, I am a slight authority on Drow and would be very pleased to help, PM, comment, or IM me.)

Someone should, it would be a travesty to send drow that look more like the Family Guy kid crawling on all fours than young budding teenaged warriors to take on their first monster.
