Deaf.Screams. I'm writing a story but need a little help. I'll copy in part of the story: "Sometimes he would turn on the television just to watch the body language of the latest senator or governor with something to hide. It was their eyes which always gave them away. He believed in the saying that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Many times he followed a story in which a person of acclaimed status talked to the people and lied." Am I using the word 'accalimed' in the proper context? I know it's definition is : To praise enthusiastically and often publicly; applaud. To acknowledge or declare with enthusiastic approval. But am I right to use it this way?
Sounds right to me...although you do need a comma after "many times." 3nodding Just thought I'd point that out.
