Set in a large country that has somehow been forgotten with time. Those who have traveled to it have never returned, nor have the Forgotten (inhabitants of Forgottenland) ever seen one of these people. Either they never made it there, or something stopped them at the doors. Many of the Forgotten are clueless to the supposed visitors, but there are a few who know of their attempts through stories and fables about the "Outsiders": Humans.

Forgottenland is filled with human-like creatures with varieties of skin-color, eye-color, and, most importantly, powers, or strengths, if you will. Some have horns, wings, or other extra growths, but their appearances are mostly human. There are no different labels for what categorization they fit under, because they are all known as the Forgotten. There are no ways of identifying another Forgotten by their appearances: only their intentions and habits. For example, if there were to be a Vampire-like creature, they would not be called a “vampire”, they would be “night walker”, or something along those lines.

Many people on the Outside think that Forgottenland is like a Bermuda Triangle. Others, however, think that it is a city protected by demons, frozen in the time that it was when the city was first created, long before the humans that we recognize now ever walked the Earth.

In Forgottenland, there are three main areas of the perfectly circular country. It is split into these pieces neatly like a pie, though the orderlyness of it is misleading.
The first area is the Slums, where most of the country’s population resides. That is where the weak live. The ones who have lost their powers, who were not born with any (therefore being cast out of their homes, much like we would do in the present day if we had a child with magical powers), or those who cannot fight well enough to survive anywhere else. The Slums are the run down part of this country, much like a ghetto would be in this land, filled with thieves and possessed beings and creatures of the night that seek to feed off of the weak. They have only recently begun to inhabit this area as the population in it rose substantially, meaning more weak bodies to consume easily. There are a few that live in the slums, aware of the danger around them, and willing to fight it with all they have. These are called the Mediators. They are those who seem to think that they have the power to fight the tremendous hordes of evil in the Slums. Though there are some that have the strength and skill to hold their own, many of them find it their duty to protect those around them, as well. But they themselves cannot hold the weight of the city.
The second area is called the Promised Land. This is the forest-like region of the country. Here, the citizens of Forgottenland live in peace for the short while that they are there. None stay too long, though, because it is not life sustaining. It is thought to be a holy ground because the evils of Forgottenland steer clear of it, though none really know why. The Forgotten can go here whenever they please, but they have no means of supporting themselves there as the land lacks nutrients and food, leaving them only a day or two before they must make the long journey back to their home. Surprisingly, though, there are not many who wish to live in the Promised Land, because they fear that it will upset whatever force protects them there, and that last part of the country will be overrun by the evil, as well.
The third and final portion of the country is called the Kingdom. It is the place that is protected by strong warriors of the areas controller: Xiao (pronounced j-ou (as in out)). The Kingdom is the only area of Forgottenland that has any order. There are laws here that the citizens must abide by, and no evil has ever made it through their gates. This area consists of the finest fighters in the country, all living behind a great wall. Though it may seem they are peaceful and working together, they are each fighting for themselves, mostly. If one falls protecting the fort, there are no tears shed, because they see it as his/her fault that they could not hold their own weight. In the Kingdom, if you cannot defend yourself properly, then you have no reason to see what is behind the walls. None from the Slums have ever made it through the walls of the Kingdom, though many have dreams of living there one day and fighting to save the Slums. These are dreams that, for many, soon die when they see the hopelessness in the idea of the Kingdom protecting the weak.

Word has just passed around that an Outsider has made it into Forgottenland. Though there are no details going around presently, this news has touched the ears of the entire country.
Night walkers and those that feed off of the weak are beginning to leave the slums in search for the Outsider, thinking that it must be weaker than any of the Forgotten. Things would seem to be quieting down in the Slums, but the area is actually in a bit of panic. Noone from Forgottenland has ever seen an Outsider before. They had only heard of them in fables and fairy tales. Now, the Forgotten in the Slums are beginning to become fearful, not knowing how strong an Outsider could be, or if they would come to harm them. Also, with the night walkers gone, there is beginning to be word spread of the Outsider being so terrifying that it is scaring away the demons (a rumor that is false).
In the Kingdom, there is much debate wether or not it would be in their best interest to search out and eliminate the Outsider, or if it is not a threat to them. Currently, they are sitting on the fence, waiting to see what the Outsider does next. The few Forgotten that live in the Kingdom and have hopes for saving people have abandoned their posts and gone out in search of the Outsider to rid the country of it. However, the Kingdom’s forces are not dented by this, even though those that have left will never be able to return.
In the Promised Land, nothing seems to have changed. Evil has not been allowed to enter the area still. But the Forgotten that are there are trying to hold out as long as they can, going two or three days at a time without food or water. Many of these travelers become weary during their first few hours on their journeys back home in the Slums, making their deaths inevitable. Others die before they can leave the Promised Land, trying to hold out as long as they can and push themselves to the limit. Their bodies disintegrate into dusk and get blown away with the wind, erasing the disturbing scene from the memories of those nearby.

This is a literate thread, so there is no reason why your posts shouldn't reflect that. If you want to write net speak, go to myspace or something. It is preferred if your posts are at least a full paragraph (7 full sentences or more), with the exception of character interaction scenes.

One more thing. If you are entering the story during time of play, you have to start your post at a point where it might "intertwine" with the previous posts. Like your character might walk in while Kitasai is fighting a demon or something. Your character could then choose to aide her in her fight. Or whatever path you choose to take. That is just an example. Try and keep your character in the story, though. Don't wander off on your own too often. It makes it very hard to interact with you, especially when the other characters are in a scene that they cannot just dip out of.

Area in Forgottenland: The Slums

Role: She will protect those around her if they are in need, but she does not go out seeking to help people.

Appearance: 5'1" (approx. 1.6 meters) tall. Her skin is a light brown tan color naturally. Wherever she shed blood while engulfed in flames, there is a scar from the blood burning into her skin from the heat.

Powers/strengths: Kitanai was born with the ability to generate large amounts of heat within her body, painting her skin with a thin layer of flames. As she grew older and ran with the demons, she learned what potential she held. Kitanai can control anything with enough heat in it. Fire is her specialty. However, she can also generate fire using the heat from her own body and particles of filth in the air, igniting into furious flames that she can bend at will. When Kitanai fights, she aims to kill, though she has learned to keep the knowledge of her power to herself, lest someone from the Kingdom caught word of her somehow and recruited her.

Personality and Background: Kitanai was raised by demons until she was 14, taught to fend for herself in a world of violence. Growing up in the Slums, she learned at a young age how to defend herself. She now lives with a girl named Kirei (English Translation: Pretty; clean; nice). How the two of them met was by accident a long time ago, and Kitanai made the mistake of saving the girl from a certain death involving some night walkers. Now, Kirei has an attachment to Kitanai, vowing to serve her in any way she can, though she usually just gets in the way with her girly attitude. Kitanai battles within herself between good and evil, passionate about both, but afraid of what either might hold in store for her.

Equipped List: Blade Whip- The whip that Kitanai carries with her is usually rolled up and strapped to her waist for easy access. It is made of a very thin an flexible metal that can withstand immense amounts of pressure and heat. Instead of whipping, it slices like a blade.

Area in Forgottenland: She's from Kindom. She often travels to the Slums and the Promised Land.
Role: She's one of the highest priestesses of the whole Kindom.
But she's the only priestess that travels to the other lands. She loves helping others and watching nature. Even though she's the 3rd highest rank, she's very modest about it and goes out of her way to help people
Appearance: She's about the average height of a 16 year old. She has pale skin, and bright blue eyes.
She has long, pale blond hair sometimes tied back in a ponytail. Like this:

Powers/strengths: She has pale blue wings to match with her pale skin tone to fly with even though she enjoys walking. With her staff, she can control water + ice. She can also use her staff to do small heals and move things around. Without her staff, she uses her katana, which she carries everywhere. She's very skilled with sword craft and she usually has a reason to fight.
When she uses her katana, she never kills people with it.
The winged anklets give her the power to move around quickly and jump long distances.
Personality and Background: Her parents, she's never met. She lives in her own luxurious house with her pet jakalope (rofl xDD). She loves company, animals, and everything natural. She has the ability to speak with animals that cant talk.
Equipped List: She always carries her katana with her everywhere. Her staff can sometimes turn into tiny clips (which she has on atm in the pic) so she doesnt have to carry it. The wings are a part of her and cant be taken off. They also act as a shield at times.
