Well, Bleach and Naruto are airing on Cartoon Network’s Saturday broadcast.
Those are pretty good anime’s.
InuYasha is also a good anime.

But if your wanting to start a DVD collection, I would suggest:
Outlaw Star, Rune Soldier, Full Metal Panic!, Gunslinger Girl, Samurai 7 and Wild Arms: Twilight Venom.
And though I’ve never seen it, I hear Negima is a good one.

If your willing to wait for an anime to be released in English, I would suggest:
Rozen Maiden, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Karin.
That should be a good list for starters! ^_^
