Hi Everyone:
This is a story I wrote for a character I had created on an online game called Ultima Online. I was a GM (game master). I have quoted it below for your enjoyment, It was fun to do. Maybe we can continue the story. Anyone who wants to create the role play characters for the story, go for it. I want to see how good you guys are. I will help out too if you want, but I am unfamiliar with the procedure of role play here. On Ultima Online it is easy, you just ride around on horseback (or on a tame dragon) slaying demons and dragons and even other players. Well, maybe not that easy. You don't have to write much though, and English was never my major. Anyway, here it goes.

Kalisha, the Elven Goddess of Justice and Truth

Gorin, the story teller notices several elves in the human audience and says, “It is time to tell you the story about Kalisha, the Elven Goddess of Justice and Truth”. His audience stirs and several knowing smiles break out on the faces of some. “I will start my tale in the Time of Troubles, when Kalisha’s mother who was an elven goddess, met Jasper, Kalisha’s father in another planar realm. Jasper was an elder of the mining village of Minoc. He also did some hunting and was good with the bow. One day as he was hunting in the forest he heard a twig snap behind him. As he swung around he caught a glimpse of something moving. He called out, but no one answered. He saw the bush rustle and he let an arrow fly. Next he heard what sounded like the sound of a woman crying out in pain. He ran to the bush to find an elvish woman lying on the ground clutching at the arrow which had imbedded itself into her thigh. He stood there in awe, never having seen an elvish woman before, and never a woman with such beauty. She was wildly chanting and Jasper realized he has been attacked with a poison spell. He reached for a potion from his pouch which counteracted the poison. He motioned to the elvish woman whom he perceived was a sorceress, not to cast any more spells, and tended to her wound. She eyed him with distrust, but he was very gentle. After removing the arrow, he applied a healing balm and bandages. He then gave her a healing potion and helped her back to his forest cabin, where he restored her back to health. Even after her wounds had healed, she elected to stay with Jasper. After learning each other’s languages, she explained to Jasper how Ao had taken away her immortality and had sent her to this world. She had materialized in the forest south of Minoc and saw Jasper when he was out hunting. She followed him, but stayed hidden. When Jasper had shot her with his arrow she had perceived it as an attack and she used magic to defend herself. She did not use a more destructive spell as she had been the goddess of love and beauty in the other planar realm and did not want to destroy Jasper. And so in time love grew and Jasper married his goddess and they had three children … Rohne, Karyne and Jean.
One day Black Heart ran across Jasper and his wife as they were mining for precious metal and gems. He came after Jasper to kill him and take his treasure but Jasper’s wife interceded with a fire spell, wounding Black Heart and scaring him off. He vowed vengeance. In time, Black Heart did succeed by ambushing and mortally wounding Jasper’s wife. Jasper sent for his brother who tried in vain to heal her. She charged him with a task of utmost importance. As her life slipped away she made him promise to carry out her wishes. As he gave his word a blinding white glow enveloped her body and when it subsided, her body was gone and all that remained were three crystals. Jasper’s brother magically fashions these crystals into three amulets which he gave to Rohne, Karyne and Jean, charging them never to part with them as their destinies were entwined with the crystals. He then returned to his own land until the time came.
Rohne had dreams of becoming a mighty warrior. After defeating a dragon (by sheer luck) he received his knighthood and set out on his quest of fame and fortune. After he left, his father became gravely ill. His oldest sister, Karyne set out in search of him. She charged her sister Jean to look after their father and take care of their home. Unfortunately a band of brigands lead by the notorious Black Heart, broke in, ransacked and burned down their home took Jean hostage and left Jean's ill father for dead. As the thieves made their way on horseback along the trail to their lair, Jean managed to free herself from her bonds. All of a sudden an Ogre appeared and attacked the band of thieves. Seeing this as an opportunity to escape, Jean leapt from the tethered horse and rolled down the hill. She rolled under some brush but unfortunately hit her head on a rock and was knocked unconscious. The thieves search in vain for her after defeating the Ogre. On the morrow Jean recovered and set out back for her home. She looked and looked but couldn't find her father’s body or family ring which her father always wore among the charred remains of their home. ‘What has happened to him’, she wondered. She then set out in search of her brother and sister. She became a woodsman, master of the bow and could tame animals, unlike her sister who was a miner (but who later became a Master Tailor, sewing the hides of animals she kills, and a great healer who could even resurrect the dead), and a master of fencing weapons. Their brother became a true knight of the realm, master in sword and magic.”
”What happened to Jasper? Well, Jasper had a pure mage for a brother, a sort of "black sheep" of the family. So black that none of his family knows about him save Jasper. Jasper had sent for him to try and save his wife when she was mortally wounded and again after Jasper became ill. It was this black wizard who magically loosened Jean's bonds and created the Ogre that kept the thieves busy while Jean made good her escape. He also replaced Jasper with an illusion; fooling the thieves into thinking that Jasper was dead. Black Heart's intent was to hold Jasper for ransom, Jasper being a much respected elder of Minoc, then killing him after he had collected the ransom. This would have completed his revenge. Jean was not as important to him. So who is this mysterious brother of Jasper's? Even his name was a mystery. He went by the name "Incognito", so no one, save Jasper, knew his real name.”
“In time and after many adventures Jean crossed paths with her siblings and her father but they decided to go there separate ways as each has grown and come into their own. Their father bid them farewell and each set out to fulfill their destiny.”
“Jean resolved to journey towards her uncle’s secluded mountain dwelling. Her uncle sensed her need and came out to meet her before she even started her accent. He said, ‘The time has come for you to fulfill your destiny’. He then placed a magic seed on the ground. Jean’s amulet glowed, the seed borrowed into the ground and a portal materialized. ‘It is time for you to fulfill your mother’s vision’, her uncle said. ‘When the time comes for you to put on immortality, the amulet your mother left for you will proclaim it’. Jean didn’t understand what her uncle meant, but with bow and quiver in hand, gold and potions in her pouch, and food and a bedroll in her pack she boldly stepped through the portal. Jean found that she had been transported into the Lands of Kalmiria and was quick to make a name for herself. She soon received the favour of the Gods of the land and they decided to make her a goddess. ‘It is time to put on immortality’, they said, and with that the crystal shattered and Jean was enveloped with a brilliant white light. A voice emanated from the light and said, ‘You are no longer Jean of Minoc, henceforth you shall be known as Kalisha, elven goddess of truth and justice. Fulfill the destiny I have envisioned for you my daughter’. ”
“What of Jasper, Incognito, Rohne and Karyne … well those are other stories I will tell you … someday”, Gorin winks as he passes around his hat to the generous audience.
Several members of the audience begin to chant and others join in …

Oh Kalmirian knight ride forth
Vanquish your foes short and tall
And present to your goddess one-fourth
Of the booty you will take from them all.

Oh Kalmirian knight do not strife.
Do not fear for your soul or provision
For your goddess will preserve your life
She will strengthen your resolve and vision.

Oh Kalmirian knight do not waver
Serve the goddess of Justice and Truth
And in the resolve to seek her favour
Place a token on her alter as proof.

Oh Kalmirian knight ride forth
Be thou victorious in justice and truth.

I hope you like my story and that it entertained you and filled you with a desire to continue on with the saga. The obvious characters are Kalisha (Jean) her sister Karyne, her brother Rohne, her father Jasper, Black Heart, and the mysterious Incognito, the black wizard (Jean's uncle), and of course the story teller Gorin. You may want to give a name to Kalisha's mother, the goddess of love and beauty (something I didn't do),
Anyway, have fun with it.
