I couldn't help but noticing that on the very front of our beloved guild, the winner of the "txt tlk" horror story had corrected a god-awful "txt tlk" post. What the person didn't notice, however, was that he/she missed two crucial places where he/she should have put a comma. I have added my corrections (to the correction, no less) in red. Enjoy.

When you click "Post reply" on the page of a topic, then you're on the reply page, there's the "Post style" button. Its default is "say" but if you click it, there's a lot of choices. The preview is the blue box on the right. See? My format is "document." Hope that helps 3nodding

I believe in Jesus Christ, my Savior. If you do too, and aren't scared to admit it, then copy and paste this into your signature. OP: You're correct about the lack of commas. Thank you for pointing that out. I'll correct it on the front page. It should be "piss", not "pisses" since you're saying people piss you off.

-blinks- Good job. They also forget to capitalize the lovely wording in the second sentence.

Pawsie-Incognito :'D People who do not put commas where they need to be pisses me off. D': At first, I misread this statement. I read it without the "do not," and when I realized my mistake, it made me laugh. xD

As long as I understand what is said, and it's spelled correctly, and punctuated so we understand it, I don't care about comma's except the crucial ones.
Example:
The student said the teacher is crazy.
"The student," said the teacher, "is crazy."

RainbowInjection Pawsie-Incognito :'D People who do not put commas where they need to be pisses me off. D': I agree. Hey, c'mon, it's an honest mistake guys. Now if they do it on purpose or don't care at all, then it's a different matter... stare

Being a stickler for commas can get a bit hypocritcal since comma use is probably one of the most lax rules in grammar. It only exists to create a pause, and if you're writing in a fashion where a pause will disrupt flow or change the tone it's better not to use it, even if it is technically correct. Saying "Hey you!" gives a different effect than "Hey, you!" for example, and one might want tone of the former more than the latter. At least, that's how I feel about them (putting a comma after "least" gave it more emphasis, though I didn't need it grammatically, hoho).
And anyone who has problems with excessive and inappropriate commas, do not read Victorian literature. xp

vindicated_angel Actually, I think I overuse commas. Me too. I put a lot of commas in most of my sentences. Not these ones though. ^_^
