I just recently got my first cell phone, finally, and a few hours later I acutally figured out how to text message on it. I follow my grammer buy putting a period at the end of the sentence, but I dob't capitalize the next beginning letter only because I haven't figured out how to do that yet.
My question you guys and gals is, how are you when you text message on your cell phones? And yes I bealieve that this kind of thread has been around here before and I'm sorry if this is repeating. (I'm a bit lazy/ tired to look for the simular thread. ^_^")

Well, if I can come up with $500 to buy myself an iPhone (that better last my entire life after spending that much on a phone), I'll just be able to press the little virtual keys. xp

I finally upgraded to a Sidekick, which makes typing a lot easier (well, relatively speaking - these keys are still wee tiny things). Most cell phones have an automatic capitalization feature after you enter a period. Check your text settings.

I know about the capital after a period but I want to capitalize "I" or the first letter in someone's name when I text it in the middle of the sentence.

I have an unlimited texting plan myself. whee Many of my friends dislike calling, so I receive about 20 texts per day. I also send out replies to each message. sweatdrop How am I on texting? I used to be slow, but now I'm fast. I have a... Samsung? I think that's what it is. It can do all kinds of nifty things. I capitalize what needs to be capitalized. I insert periods, commas, apostrophes (please tell me I spelled this correctly), and even semicolons where they are needed. I am a grammar freak, though. Most of the people I know don't care if their sentences aren't perfect. For example, one text I received yesterday reads as follows: "Do u want to go to dennys and play ds?" Personally, I would have texted it as, "Do you want to go to Denny's and play DS?" sweatdrop ...But if you don't know how to capitalize a new sentence on your phone, it's not the end of the world. biggrin It took me a while to figure out how to capitalize my new sentences, too.

I just use the T9Abc feature blaugh Its very simple as the mobile phone (cell phone as YOU guys call it) tries to guess the word that you are trying to text. If not, then I just press the down button on the mobile, and hey presto! The word that I want comes into the screen 3nodding

I think you just press the little star button to capitalize a letter. Thats how it is on my cell phone at least, but it could be different on yours...

I don't usually text message on my phone, but the only thing I don't do is if a letter repeats and if I'm doing it fast, I'll skip that letter. for example "I will do that later." will be shortened to "I wil do that later." because the blinky cursor thing sits there for 6 seconds until it moves onto the next ltter

It should allow you to skip the six second wait.
