But I though we could have a thread dedicated solely to our lovable fathers, who pretty much raised us even though we were being idiots at some times.

My dad passed on in 2005. He was an engineer, a teacher, a graduate of VMI, and a veteran of the Korean War. He always swore he'd stopped having birthdays years ago, and I was fond of reminding him that as long as people remembered his birthday he'd keep having them, like it or not sweatdrop
