Welcome to the Konoha, Hidden Leaf, Ninja Academy. The sensei here is me ~ Windblade. Anyone is free to join in at any time, as long as they are not Carbon Copies of actual Naruto characters and as long as they do not God Mod. This academy is a continuation of the Konoha Ninja Academy and the Hidden Leaf Ninja Academy. Any student that is not listed here but was listed at the other thread has been removed due to inactivity. Meaning if they have less a rank then that for a graduate student and and have not pmed me since I have become sensei then they have been removed. If you were listed before and wish to continue, pm me and you can start where you left off. If you think I have made a mistake in taking you off feel free to pm me as well.

Ninja ranking system

Here's how the tests affect your ninja standing. You all start out as Graduate students. In order to advance to a Genin you have to take the Lessons 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and then pass a specialized test to make sure you're at the Genin level. To get to the Chunin level you have to first become a Genin, then pass the tests for lessons 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. After that you will have to participate in the Chunnin selection exam. I will announce when that will be held and what all will be involved with it when there are enough people to participate in it. To become a Jounin, you have to first become a Chunin then pass the tests from lessons 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20. I will give a special examination to you once you have passed test 20. There are other routes to take (Anbu, -kage, missing ninja, hunter ninja, exiled ninja, assassin, etc), those will be decided by your performance.

A note for taking tests: DO NOT copy/paste answers from the lessons. When I see them, I will automatically fail you for that test. All answers must be answered in your own words. The reason for this is; if you merely copy/paste answers into places, what have you learned? It''s my duty to make sure that gain knowledge as well as skill.

Lessons 1 through 5

arrow Lesson 1

In order for one to be a ninja, you must understand chakra. Chakra is the spiritual energy inside of every person. In order to perform ninja techniques, a person must be able to control and use their chakra properly. This brings me to my next section, molding chakra. To begin, interlock your two hands with both index fingers extended. Position your hands at the center of your chest. Close your eyes and concentrate on bringing all your chakra to a certain point in your body. If done right, you should be able to use your chakra in any way possible. Now, onto the next subject. There are three types of attacks a ninja uses. They are: Ninjitsu, Genjitsu, and Taijitsu. Ninjitsu is a type of attack that involves using hand seals to conjure up an attack with your chakra. They are very powerful attacks, but use up a large amount of chakra. Genjitsu are illusionary techniques. A ninja uses genjitsu in order to confuse the enemy to make victory easier. It uses a less amount of chakra than ninjitsu. Taijitsu is hand to hand ninja combat. It requires no hand seals whatsoever, but requires a lot of physical training. Taijitsu uses the least amount of chakra, but it is the least prefered form of attacking since it is weak to both ninjitsu and genjitsu. That is all for today's lesson. Tomorrow will be the test and I will give a new lecture.

arrow Lesson 3

Today's lesson is over the Great Five Shinobi Countries. All together, there are 5 villages: Hidden Leaf, Hidden Sand, Hidden Mist, Hidden Stone, and Hidden Cloud. The most powerful being Hidden Leaf. Hidden Leaf is located in the Fire Country and is headed by the Hokage. Hidden Sand is located in the Wind Country and is headed by Kazekage. Hidden Mist is located in the Water Country and is headed by Mizukage. Hidden Stone is located in the Earth Country and is headed by Tsuchikage. And finally, Hidden Cloud is located in the Thunder Country and is run by Raikage. Of all the Kages, Hokage is the leader Kage who has the control of the most ninjas.


arrow Lesson 4

Located in the land of Fire, Hidden Leaf Village is the largest and most powerful of all Hidden Shinobi Villages. Due to its large population, its military presence is very powerful. Founded by the 1st Hokage close to 100 years ago, Konoha has underwent many rough times. The Great War which occurred 20 years ago ws won by Konoha, making it the super power it is today. The 1st Hokage had the ability to create life from nothing, thus how he created Konoha. The 2nd Hokage was able to conjure up water to use during battle. The 3rd Hokage, known as the greatest so far, has no specific special abilities. He is a master of all ninja arts. He trained the 3 strongest ninjas around, known as the Sannin. The three members of the Sannin are: Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru. Since becoming Sannin Jiraiya has become a perverted old man and dirty novel writer. Tsunade has become a compulsive gambler, and Orochimaru has gone mad and plots the destruction of all that is good. The 3rd Hokage was killed at the hands of Orochimaru. The 4th Hokage served for a short time. He was a hero during the Great War and was chosen to take the 3rd's place because the 3rd was getting old. The 4th sacraficed his life to stop a Monster Fox from destroying Konoha. In recent days, Konoha has only been in one war since the Great War... but it ended fairly fast. This was due to Oroichimaru creating the Hidden Sound village and turning the Hidden Sand village against Konoha. Thanks to the efforts of everyone in the village, we were able to push back the attackers.


arrow Lesson 5

Today's lesson is over special abilities a ninja can acquire. For the purpose of this lesson I will use examples of characters from Naruto to better explain the abilities. First we will start with Naruto. When he first joined the academy he performed poorly when it came to the replication technique. It caused him to fail three times before he finally passed in a fluke incident. During this incident Naruto learned how to use Shadow Replication which is the ability to make real life replicas of yourself that can actually fight with you. This is Naruto's special ability.

Born from the elite Uchiha clan, Uchiha Sasuke has a very rare blood line. He is able to use an eye known as the Sharingan. This ability allows Sasuke to not only see through Genjutsu, but he can copy Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, and Genjutsu whenever he sees it and can then use it as his own technique. Besides that, the Sharingan in itself is a strong Genjutsu weapon. It can throw an opponent into a fake world where you can do anything you want to them without them being able to fight back. It's a technique known as Genjutsu Tsukiyomi (Illusionary Underworld Moon) which can only be used by someone who possesses a special Sharingan known as the Mange Sharingan.

Hyuuga Neiji possesses another powereful eye known as Byakugan. The Byakugan allows the person to see almost 360 degrees. This means that the user can see an attack coming even from behind them. Another interesting aspect of the Byakugan is that it can be used as a telescope to scope out long distances. But, the most deadly part of it is its ability to attack the tenketsu of an opponent, which in turn prevents the opponent from using their chakra making a win easy for the Byakugan user.

Akimichi Choji has the ability to supersize himself. His clan, the Akimichi clan, can enlarge any part of their body to the point of being giants. Another attack that he has is the Meat Tank attack. With this attack Choji supersizes his body, tucks in his head, arms, and legs, and uses his chakra to roll his body at incredible speeds to run over the opponent. It's a very powerful attack, but lacks accuracy.

Aburame Shino uses a unique technique which involves using bugs. These bugs, known as Destruction Bugs, live inside of Shino's body. Whenever he fights these bugs are used in many different ways to defeat the enemy. Their usefullness comes from the fact that they eat chakra. Once they are on the opponent victory is assured.

Gaara of the Desert uses sand to attack. His technique may not sound very strong, but he has proven to be one of the most powerful ninjas in the show. The sand has a will of its own, meaning that even it will defend Gaara even without his consent. The sand can also be used to create powerful body parts on Gaara. During a battle with Naruto Gaara covered his whole body in sand to make himself into a super powerful monster.

Kankuro is a puppeteer who, you guessed it, uses puppets to fight with. He attaches chakra strings to puppets loaded with weapons and hides in a safe place while the puppet fights for him. The puppets are loaded with poisons that are either soaked on blades or packet in poison bombs.

Kiba uses a beast technique. He is able to amplify all his senses and abilities to that of a wild beast during a fight. This means that he is a brawling type of fighter. He uses a technique known as Gatsuuga. To perform this technique, he runs at the enemy at full speed then jumps in the air spinning. The speed of his spin is so fast that when he hits the enemy it almost means instant victory.

Nara Shikamaru uses the Kage Mane no Jutsu (Shadow Copy Technique). This involves him stretching his shadow to the opponent's shadow to capture them. It's a very hard technique to master, but can be very useful in a team battle. Once the shadow reaches the opponent, the opponent is controlled by the user of Kage Mane. This technique uses a lot of intelligence due to how complicated it is to catch an opponent with your shadow.

Lessons 6 through 10

arrow Lesson 6

There are nine known Jinchuuriks in the world. Thus far though, only two have
been introduced: (1) The nine-tails and (2) The one-tail. The nine-tails is known
as Uzumaki Naruto. The 4th Hokage performed a sealing technique on a monster fox and used Naruto's body as a holding container for it. He then placed a seal on Naruto's stomach to not only seal the kyubi, but to allow Naruto to make use of the kyubi's chakra. The sealing system consists of two four-season seals from an
eight astronomical sealing system. At first, it was hard for Naruto to use this special chakra, but under the supervision of Jiraiya he was eventually able to
use it at his will. The nine-tails chakra that Naruto uses is a very unique
chakra. It completely changes Naruto in every aspect. Physically, his bone
structure changes slightly, his eyes change to those similar to a cat, and his
fingernails/toenails grow similar to claws. Besides the physical changes, the
chakra gives Naruto enormous power. He is able to achieve unrealistic speeds,
becomes incredibly limber, power raises beyond the level of a Jounin, and has the
ability to instantly heal. . . meaning that as long as he has the will to fight,
he won't lose.

The other Jinchuurik, Gaara of the desert, has a completely
different advantage. Before he was even born, his father infused a demon raccoon known as Shukaku into him. So technically, he was a monster at birth. He killed his mother and became a very feared person in his country. Shukaku is a sand-type demon, meaning that Gaara uses sand based attacks. He is able to control and manipulate sand in any way he can possibly think. Also, the sand acts as a perfect defense. If Gaara is attacked without knowing it, the sand will automatically defend him without his consent. So, unless the enemy has ridiculous speed, chances are Gaara would not be harmed. The downside of Shukaku is that it slowly takes over the user's mind. When the user falls asleep, he leaves his mind vulnerable and Shukaku slowly takes over. This leads to a severe case of insomnia that, in itself, leads to character changes in Gaara. This causes Gaara to slowly grow more and more unstable to the point of being a simple killing machine. The other 7 jinchuurik's are unknown at this time so a lesson later on will be designed to explain them as they appear.

Akatsuki Organization
This organization has 9 members in it, every one of them are either exiled ninja or missing-nin. The power of these ninja is great, giving them the ability to accomplish whatever their evil hearts desire fairly easy. Oroichimaru was once a member of the group, but left for reasons untold. The strongest known member is Uchiha Itachi. Their purpose is unknown, but what we do know is that they are seeing out the 9 Jinchuuriks.

Anbu Team
Anbu is an elite team of ninjas belonging to the Leaf Village. Only Jounin are
able to become Anbu. The Anbu are recognizable by the animal masks they wear, and are assigned many various jobs including assassinations and escorts.

Cursed Seal
This is seal is given by Orochimaru. He bites the victim and leaves a mark on the victims neck. Each mark has a different seal on it depending on who is bit. In Uchiha Sasuke's case, his mark looks like his Sharingan due to his advanced blood line. When someone gets bitten there is a 1 in 10 chance that they will survive, but if they survive they will become far more powerful than they currently are. The Cursed Seal is a forbidden technique that takes advantage of a users greed for power.

Hunter-Nin
There are teams of hunter-nins assigned for each village. They wear masks with designs painted on them. Their job is to look for missing-nins who leave the village, taking the villages secrets with them. When they are found the hunter-nins kill them and destroy their bodies so the village's secrets are kept safe. Some of the villages secrets include its Chakra types and its Jutsus.


Kinjutsu
Kinjutsu means Forbidden Skill in Japanese. The techniques are forbidden for reasons such as (1)It goes against morality or (2)It causes the user harm as well. A few kinjutsus are Rock Lee's Primary Lotus which pushes his bodies limits for a brief amount of time. But, as a result, it tears his muscles and causes a great amount of pain. Oroichimaru has a technique called Kuchiyose, Edo Tensei which summons forth someone who has already died in order to have them fight for you.

Missing-Nin
These are Ninjas who abandon their Village and become wanderers. Some missing-nins are used by other villages to find out the villages secrets to give them an advantage in battle. Because the villages are afraid of this they make teams of Hunter-nins who seek and destroy the villages traitors to keep its secrets safe by killing them.

Mist Ninja Seven Swordsmen
A group of highly skilled assassins from the Hidden Mist village. This group was made with the best ninjas wielding swords.

arrow Lesson 8


Bakuretsu Kage Bunshin no Jutsu
A Ninjutsu technique where the ninja creates a suicidal Kage Bunshin (shadow clone). After creating it, the ninja can cause the clone to remotely detonate and explode in combat, taking anyone immediately surrounding it out.

Bakuretsufuu
A Fuuinjutsu (sealing technique) where a seal is placed upon a piece of paper,
creating an effect upon the paper that causes an explosion. These seals can be
made in the field, but are more commonly bought by or given to ninjas as
equipment, like kunai and shuriken.

Biransei no Jutsu
This Ninjutsu technique creates a cloud of poisonous gas that erupts from the
ninja's mouth in a stream. The cloud clears a distance between the ninja and
their enemy, as not to capture the ninja himself within it's area of effect.

Bunshin no Jutsu
This technique must be mastered by any ninja who has graduated from the Academy at the Hidden Leaf Village. It's the most basic technique a Genin must know, since it can be a real lifesaver. This ninjutsu creates a shadow clone of the caster.

Chakra Enjintou
A Ninjutsu technique used, primarily for field surgery. The ninja concentrates a powerful aura of chakra around their hand, creating a blade capable of tearing through muscles and arteries, or breaking bone, without actually breaking the skin of the person they're using it on.

Chidori A Ninjutsu technique where the ninja using it grabs their wrist, and then
collects enough chakra into their hand that it becomes visible to mere human
eyes. With enough chakra collected into one focal point, that point becomes
powerful enough to destroy an entire cliff side.

Chiyute no Jutsu
A Ninjutsu technique where the ninja focuses chakra into the palms of their
hands, creating a small ball of healing chakra. This chakra, when concentrated, can repair physical damage to another person.

Choukaihou
A Ninjutsu technique that only those of the Akimichi Clan can use. After taking the red Hourengan and increasing the ninja's power a hundredfold, the ninja converts all of their calories into pure chakra, which is visible around them in the form of beautiful butterfly wings.

Chuusuusei Biribiri
A Ninjutsu technique where the ninja turns their chakra into an electrical pulse which is transmitted into an enemy's body by striking the base of their neck. The electrical impulse travels up their brain stem and disrupts the flow of
electricity in the nervous system.

A ninja must be able to sense any change in the atmosphere, for even a small twig cracking could be the sound of an enemy sneaking up to attack. Good eyes, keen intellect, and concentration are the three things a ninja needs to track down their target. If a ninja doesn't possess all three, then that ninja wouldn't be at their full potential. That is all for this lesson, PM me for the test.

Please look over and memorize the following jutsu:

Hakkeshou: Kaiten
A Ninjutsu technique where the ninja expels chakra from every one of their tenketsu, effectively pausing any attack moments before it would connect with them. Then, they spin their body like a top while continually expelling chakra from their body in a twisting sphere.

Harisuzu
A Taijutsu technique where the attacker attaches bells to needles to mislead the enemy into reacting to sound instead of movement. In this way, one or many needles with bells can be thrown, quickly followed by regular needles that would catch the opponent off guard.

Metampsychosis
Orochimaru's prized jutsu which he turned his back on Konoha for. This Ninjutsu technique allows Orochimaru to anchor his soul to this world forever by inhabiting the body of another human being. Making eye contact with the new host, he projects his soul into their body.

Mokudon: Jyukai Koudan
A Mokudon (wood type) Ninjutsu technique where the ninja uses their chakra to create the sapling of a great tree, and then continues to use their chakra to feed the root of the sapling. It grows, twists and winds through solid obstacles, and wraps around the ninja's enemy.

Weapons

Kunai Knives
Kunai are very common, and are very easy to throw. The kunai is a small blade attached to a thin handle with a ring at the end. The kunai, although small is very sharp and can also be used for melee fights. I€™m not sure what the ring is for, so if you find out please post it.

Throwing Stars/Shuriken
Throwing stars are almost as common as kunai. The throwing star is just that: a star. These like the kunai are made of a cheap material most times, and are very easy to use. The stars are usually made with four spokes, but the number can vary by region. The shape of the spokes can vary as well, from the simple triangles, to a multi-layered spinning flame design. The shape determines the type of shuriken. (Wind star, earth star, etc.)

Spell/Seal Tags
Spell and seal tags are not weapons in themselves. These pieces of paper are infused with chakra and depending on the amount of chakra and the type of seal on the paper they can do hundreds of different things. The most common seal for the ninja though, is the exploding seal, which is usually placed on the paper before the battle, and is used like a kunai during battle. When that type of seal is thrown, it explodes when triggered. The type of paper can easily make or ruin your attack, and where it€™s made. The best make-shift papers are made from reeds or something else with vertical lines. The worst would have to be a regular leaf. The reason these work worse is their €œalignment.€ If a tag is aligned properly, the input chakra doesn€™t leak as quickly as if it weren€™t aligned. Another thing to note is that if you buy a tag from England, it probably not be so strong, because of their poor alignment. The Japanese have perfected this art of paper making to the point that some seals can lay dormant for hundreds of years and still function (although of course not very well€)!

Scrolls
Scrolls are not as common as the other two, but are still powerful, if not more than the others. Scrolls are used for a variety of purposes, although the most common are summoning, and healing. The scroll is used to shorten long hand seal patterns to only a few, to none. The scrolls have different activations, from a small input of chakra, to the heart of your foe. The scrolls are very hard to make, and it's stupid and time consuming to put a simple spell onto them (like Baka no Jutsu) because of that.

arrow Lesson 13


In this lesson I will be introducing the other weapons that can vary from ninja to ninja. These are usually considered "main weapons," but please remember that oversized editions are in curculation and that those can also be used as a main weapon.

Swords
Sword. When I say that word, you can't always picture what I'm using can you? So, I'll be going into some different types of swords.

~Short Sword
Short swords are European, and are about the size of the average forearm to almost the entire arm. They are light enough to be wielded with one hand mostly. They are light, and are better for stabbing then longer swords. They can break easily at times though...

~b*****d Sword/Hand-and-a-Half Sword
These are also European, and are wielded with on or two hands. They are not the best for stabbing, and are well suited for slashing.

~Greatsword
Very large swords that require two hands. They are thick enough to be good for stabbing... if you can get over their great length and weight. They are very slow, but what you lose in power you get in strength.

~Katana
The katana is from Japan, and is light and well balanced. These swords are quick, but not good at stabbing. They are also one-sided and two-handed. They have a slight curve, and will break easily if you stab with too much force.

~Tachi
This has a katana's design, but is longer to a degree.. These weapons can vary from four, to fourteen feet long. Their make is the same as a katana, except for the length and a more pronounced curve in the blade.

~Boken or Shinai
Boken (accent over the "o") are used for training, and are made of wood or bamboo. They can still be used as a real weapon, but only by strong or advanced swordsmen.

Staves and Rods
Staves and rods are best used defensively, and have slight differences. Staves are thicker, and not usually capped. Meanwhile a rod is thinner and longer, but, to compensate for this, are capped with metal.

Daggers
Daggers are knives that are usually five to twelve inches long. There are different types depending on the shape of the blade and or hilt.

Throwing Knives
Throwing knives are balanced to promote a smooth throw and keep it from missing target. they are made of lightweight, cheap material.

Bells and Kunai/Needles
These bells are attached to another weapon and thrown. The opponent will then follow the sound of the bells, not noticing that you just threw some un-belled weapons.

Spears
Not too common, but these can be a simple sharpened stick, to a four foot mahogany handle with a polished ivory blade at the end. They are usually long and can be encumbering in certain situations. Some are made for throwing.

Mission Structure

Tasks are entrusted to the Konoha everyday, ranging from simple, mundane tasks like child care, to high level, risky missions like assasination, which all have a payment from the client at the end if the mission is successful. They are easily divided by A, B, C, and D class missions. As there are 4 classes of ninja, Kage, Jounin, Chuunin, and Genin (and kage being the village chief, therefore, busy with other matters), these difficulties in missions are given out accordingly to the ninja's rank and experience to better fit success.

• D class missions are typical household chores, like walking the dog or cleaning the environment. Genins and Chuunins typically get these assignments.

• C class missions are more moderate in some level of certain skill, but they pose no extreme life threatening situations. Genins are allowed to take these missions, considering that they have the experience needed, and of course chuunins can as well.

• B class missions is when the danger starts. Endangerment of life is a factor in these missions as well as combat may ensue. Genins aren't allowed in any circumstance to take these missions. Chuunins are the only class typical of taking these missions because of the specific level of danger and its profile.

• A class missions are high risk situations. Because of there nature, jounins, and only jounins, are allowed to partake in these missions. These missions can be potentially detrimental in nature, so only the experienced jounin can be entrusted to missions like these.

Shuriken Throwing

• Hidden Method: By hiding the shuriken in the palm of your hand or somewhat in a large sleeve, one can easily catch his opponent off guard this way. In essence, this isn't a method, but a strategy. Just be sure that you're careful. Shuriken don't have a mind of there own, so you can poke yourself accidentally if you hide it behind your palm.

• Fan method: This method is usually done with many shuriken at one time. By holding one shuriken in between every pair of fingers, you can cross your arms, then let them fly wild at your opponent. Many are likely to be intimidated by a flying squadron of weapons flying toward them, but if an amateur attempts this, the most they can hit would be air. A terribly inaccurate method unless in the hands of an expert shuriken master.

• Frisbee method: Simply hold the shuriken in between the thumb and index finger, then reel you hand backwards toward your stomach to get some space for momentum. With more control over the shuriken physically and focus on a single one, accuracy can be more easily achieved. Just don't be foolhardy and remember not to poke yourself in the stomach this way.

• Pitch method: A reverse direction of the frisbee method. It can be performed with multiple shuriken actually, while the fan method is best suited to use with more volume of shuriken. The pitch method can be done either way. Simply put, you bring your arm with shuriken in hand out stretched and almost behind you. Then simply throw with all your might and precision from there on. You'd need some room in order to stretch your arm out though. Warning, Kakashi has been known to take his opponent in mid swing and hold his opponent's own shuriken on their head.

Kuchiyose no Jutsu(Summoning Skill)

Having signed a contract in blood, any ninja with this Ninjutsu technique can summon a beast, or beasts, from another plane of existence to use in battle. They must use their own blood as a "sacrifice" to summon them, after performing the hand seals corresponding with their animal and marking their point of summoning on the ground with both hands. Animals range from the famous Japanese Triad of the Toad, Snake, and Snail/Slug, to dogs, spiders, turtles, monkeys, and probably many more.

Also, each summoning race may have their own "king" to summon. For instance, the toads have Gamabunta, the snakes have Manda, and the slugs have Katsuyu. There is also a possibility that some beings are unique to summon. For instance, Sandaime summons Enma the Monkey King, and then the God of Death itself, while Orochimaru has succeeded in summoning the dead.

There are many variations to the Kuchiyose, some of which include the
substitution of a life as a blood sacrifice, or even no sacrifice or hand seals
at all. Not all things summoned are animals. People and items can be summoned.
For instance, Sakon and Ukon's Rashoumon. Also, beings and items that exist in
the ninja's world can be summoned through the use of a scroll. Naruto and Sakura
summon Iruka through the Heaven and Earth scrolls during the second test of the
Chuunin Exam. And Sakon summons a barrel for the barrier jutsu used to upgrade
Sasuke's seal. So, it is very likely that we have yet to see the full range of
the Kuchiyose no Jutsu.

The Sannin (Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Tsunade) can all summon, as can Sandaime and Yondaime, Uzumaki Naruto, Maito Gai, Mitarashi Anko, Yakushi Kabuto, Kidoumaru, Tayuya, Sakon and Ukon, and any other ninja who has signed a contract in blood with any summoning race.

I've noticed many, if not all of you lack a basic knowledge of strategy when it
comes to fighting. This is important to know since many of you will be at a
Jounin level shortly and will be assigned to deadly missions. The one aspect of a
ninja that absolutely must be above the opponents is his ability to devise a
strategy in any given situation. It doesn't matter how strong the opponent is; if
you have a plan, you can win. It's essential to understand the basics of setting
up a plan:

(1) Analyze the situation and take in everything that you see.

(2) Size up the opponent. Possibly test the ninja to see what its strengths and weaknesses are.

(3) Think about every possible outcome that could result from your choices.

(4) Decide on a plan and stick to it.

(5) If something unexpected comes up, get away from the opponent and reanalyze the situation.


A good ninja will spend more time analyzing a situation than he/she actually spends fighting. It is very hard to develope a strong strategic mind, but once you're able to accomplish that you'll be able to defeat the strongest jutsus.

Advanced chakra training:

Chakra (The Combined force of Chi, body energy, & Ki, Spiritual energy) is everything for a ninja who wants to perform any ability or technique(jutsus). Although Chakra is a very important element in the performance of a shinobi, the exceptions to this statement are absolute Taijutsu users, who require only high stamina to perform their amazingly powerful strikes as they are a melee type of fighter. The only time a Taijutsu user may need Chakra is to boost their overall strength and speed exponentially. This is why every shinobi, regardless of their origin, must discipline themselves into vigorous training. They must learn how to increase their Chakra capacity, and learn how to control their extraction of it effectively.

By enduring physical training, one can develop the intensity and strength of the body, and make it possible to endure more pressure & strain. The physical training will also increase stamina, which is where Chakra derives from. The more Chakra that is used up, the less energy that the body has available to carry out regular actions. Therefore, the body will start to wear out and be exhausted. By undergoing mental training and meditation, spiritual energy will be able to blend and combine more efficiently and improve the ability to concentrate it. Life is the essence which allows for existence. Our spirit is the inner-force that gives us strength of mind. The body sustains vitality and power. It is the combination of all of this that creates Chakra, more commonly referred to as the melding of body and spirit. Chakra IS a shinobi's life-force and is used as energy in the body. Every Jutsu available uses a certain amount of Chakra, some Jutsus requiring more amounts than others. If Chakra were to be used ineffectively or entirely, a shinobi will either black out or even die. That is why training is so essential as a shinobi.

There are two primary types of Chakra. First there is the standard 'blue flame' Chakra which is what every shinobi possess and uses for their techniques. But, there is also the 'red flame' Chakra which only Naruto himself possesses (even though Naruto uses also the standard blue). This red Chakra is the result of the contained Kyubi (Nine-Tails Demon) inside of him which grants Naruto his high level of stamina, increased strength, almost limitless amounts of Chakra, and his passive healing. For this type of Chakra, Naruto can only use it in times of danger of his own life or when his emotions run high. Special training from Jiraiya (more commonly known as Ero-Sennin) allowed Naruto to better harness this incredible Chakra and prevented himself from being possessed by the evil spirit of the Nine-Tails and becoming out of control whenever he was to use the incredible power.

Aside from the types of Chakra, they can also be classified into element groups. Most Jutsus have obvious elements present in them (such as the Karyuu Endan; Fire Dragon Flame Missile, or the Suijinheki; Water Wall), and depending on the type of Jutsu used, as well as the type of element involved, the amount of Chakra that is consumed and discharged is different. There are 5 main elements of Jutsu: Earth (Doton), Fire (Katon), Lightning (Raiton), Water (Suiton), and Wind (Fuuton).

The usage of Chakra is not that complicated to understand, but at the same time is not that easy to perform (especially for higher-end Jutsus). Channelling Chakra is just as important as building up its capacity, but the release is just as necessary. Concentrating Chakra is essential when performing Jutsus. Using the right amount of Chakra will result in a more effective Jutsu used as well as an increase in agility and strength if channelled in substantial amounts to specific areas. But, improperly channelling it results in an ineffective technique and wasted Chakra, which in turn diminishes stamina and affects the overall performance of a shinobi. There are various ways to refine the amounts of Chakra that can be channelled through different methods of training. The more well known methods are by tree walking (Kinobori) and water walking (Suijyo Hokou). Both types of training focus on the build-up of Chakra at the feet. Gaining just the right amount allows for a shinobi to walk and run up a tree, or to travel atop bodies of water as if it was solid ground.

In order to obtain Chakra, it must first be melded within the body of the shinobi. As previously mentioned, this is the combining of the body and spirit. The combining of where body and mind is done, as well as the center origin of the Chakra, is referred to as the main flame (which is found at the abdomen/middle section of the body). From there, the Chakra is extracted through the Tenketsus by focusing, and then directed to the body part where it is required where it can improve the abilities and performance of that particular area. Hand seals are performed to then release the amounts of Chakra in the form of a fierce attack or a special ability/technique.

Tenketsus can be better known as the exit points or pressure points of the Chakra. This is important to know because the Tenketsus are what control the flow of the Chakra (as well as the Gates, explained later). There are 361 of the Tenketsus, all located above the Inner Coil System, and which are all the size no larger than a skin pore. By depressing these points and applying pressure, a Tenketsu can be sealed. Sealing the point results in the decreased efficiency of Chakra passing through and more than likely, cease-flow of the Chakra.

Next, The 8 Celestial Gates of Chakra. The Gates are in relation to the Inner Coils System. Chakra flows through the Coil System to all points of the body and in large amounts. To control this large flow of Chakra, there must be larger restraints to keep the flow balanced, much larger than that of the Tenketsus. These Chakra restraints are called the Celestial Gates (or the Hachimon-Tonkou). As mentioned, there are 8 of them to keep the Chakra in check. Having no control over the Chakra flow and having the surge flow through the body is very risky and life-threatening, but it also makes the person much more stronger at the expense of their physical well-being. It is possible to obtain power a thousand times stronger than normal, even stronger than a Hokage, but only for a certain period of time. If a person were to do such a thing, it almost ensures death, if not critical damage to the body. The 8 Celestial Gates can be affilated more with users of the Taijustsu style.There are certain Jutsus that can open up the Gates, and by doing so, can have different effects on the body. For example, removing the first gate, the Initial Gate (Kai-mon) removes the limits in the brain as to how far a person can push their muscles. Opening the second gate, the Heal Gate (Kyu-mon) can increase the body's energy unnaturally. A perfect example ofthe release of limitations of the Gates is Rock Lee and his forbidden ability, the Lotus (Renge). The 8 Celestial Gates are as follows:

1. Initial Gate (Kai-mon)
2. Heal Gate (Kyu-mon)
3. Life Gate (Sei-mon)
4. Harm/Wound Gate (Sho-mon)
5. Limit/Forest Gate (To-mon)
6. View Gate (Kei-mon)
7. Wonder Gate (Kyo-mon)
8. Death Gate (Shi-mon)

When on a mission things may not go as planned. There are many things that can interupt a mission, but you must not let these things keep you from completing your mission. You must also consider these things and not disregard them. There will be times when you are faced with tough choices. You will not have the option to not make these choices or let someone else make them. These choices may jepordize the mission, the life of a team mate, or your own life. You must expect the unexpected. You must think fast under great pressure with the lives of others in your hands and your life in theirs. You must weigh each situtation and act accordingly incorporating the unforseen into what you must do.

Lesson 20 is a lesson of morals. But, this lesson cannot be taught - it must be found. The true lesson of this, is to find the true meaning of what being a Ninja is. I give you time to ponder this now, in hopes that you will find the answer to this in due time.
