Alright. So as most of you probably know, I work at Target. I'm a cashier.
Well, as you can probably guess, a cashier sees many people throughout the day.
After working there about a month and a half, seeing nearly 1,000 or even MORE people a day, and talking to them, you can just analyze what they're feeling. You can tell what kind of person they are, or if something's going on in their life. I've always been good at this, but... yeah...
And you can tell by what they're buying, usually, what kind of person they are. This seems silly, but it can make sense.
Well, this lady, maybe mid-30s comes up today with her cart.
It's slow in the store.
She looks like she's been crying, but she wasn't. You could tell by her voice. She seemed emotionally drained. She looked sick physically, and emotionally she was just "blah." Her eyes were also dazed.
She just seemed so sad. I hate seeing people that sad. She was wearing old clothes and put everything from her cart up on the counter.
All I saw were bottles. Bottles of pills. Bottles and bottles and bottles.
Of course, I wasn't thinking at the time.
And I said, "How many bottles of Tylenol do you have?"
"20."
"Okay... how many bottles of... Vicodin?"
"30."
And she spent almost $200 on these pills. So many pills.
Then when her card wouldn't work and she payed with another card, she all of the sudden got really chipper when I told her the total.
And I said, "Have a nice evening."
And she says, "I will. I'm not going to be here tomorrow."
And all I could think was, "Holy. ********. s**t."
And then I felt so horrible. Did I kill this person?
What if I sold this lady her death? ;_;'
If you thought something was up, would you have sold them to her? Would you have told someone?
I told someone afterwards who I was working with, and Susana who was unusually nice today, said that's never happened before. Or someone never said something about it.
Apparently they're going to have a meeting on what to do if that happens again. Because Nathen comes over and so does Derryl, and they both say they saw her looking at knives and rope and other deathly things we sell at Target.
But... what if I... I don't know.
All I know is that I feel terrible.
I figured she wanted to die, she made her own decision... but it could have been helped...
Discuss killing people.
And ******** s**t up.

She'd have done what she was going to go anyways. I consider you more of a hero for letting her do it peacefully without causing her any complications.

Though, I think one bottle of pills would have been good enough to kill herself. o_o;
I almost got myself permabanned for telling a girl the right dosages. u_u

Pretty pissed, too.
That's how I'd take for a headache.

I have to take 5 1/2 Vicodin before I can even tell they do anything.
And they don't even ease the pain then, just make me a bit drowsy. x3
All pills are that way for me, though. I have to take them in large amounts. But when I take enough to ease the pain, I usually throw up. >_>;
Quite inconvenient. |
