Can you see the Light?
Ranting
Okay, I believe that art comes from ones hand. That its is a beauitful thing, that only you can create. With that said, I believe Gaia needs to put two different kind of Art arenas.

One for CG work, another for actual art work. I don't believe Photoshop work to be "real" art. HOW THE HELL IS THAT YOUR WORK?!!! The Computer did it for you. You just had to tell it what you wanted it to look like. That isn't realy art work you idiot!! HOW the hell did you do it?

What? You told your computer. "I want to to look like this..Now do it!" and you broke a sweat over telling your computer what you wanted the art to look like?
That isn't real art or talent.

I work about twenty minutes on a piece, and people are like, "That sucks..Oh look at this one, it soo real looking, and the computer did it. This person has real talent!!"
Um..What a minute..they took two minutes telling the computer to shade it, and blend it, and make it look all nice, and my work, by my own hands, is bad?!! Yes, of course it looks better, a computer did the work. Not the person telling them to.

It's more like they place an order on the computer, and ta-da! what they want done, is perfect. Well, um...what work did the person do? Oh yeah, they clicked a mouse around. That takes a lot of talent to do. Remeber, you must click the left button, move it around, click the left button....

Another thing, If you base it on beauty, I can understand, But it isn't just about beauty. Its about beauty and Talent, and the effort put behind it. What effort do people who click a mouse have to put? Not much. It could take them less than two minutes to come up with the perfect drawing.

People who actually use their own born talent to draw? They could spend hours, trying to perfect just hair alone. Let us not forget the inking by hand, the shading, the coloring, and such. That is someting people put effort behind, to make it perfect.

The computer does all the really hard work, photoshop users. The computer shades, inks, color, and does all the hard work.

The computer is the artist, not you.

((........................wow. I know I can't sway you...ano...have you ever actually used photoshop? A lot of artists spend fifteen hours sketching the main work, scan it in, then spend another 26 net hours finishing it....it's because pastels and oils are frequently so expensive, and you have to know a lot about PS to actually use it. It's a talent inside itself, as is drawing. Unless you're using a tablet or oekaki (which is so pixil format you can spend days...), then you are doing most of the drawing by hand. PS is the extension of that.
One of my greatest aspirations is to be able to use photoshop and eventually get my sketches good enough to actually spend the time editing them. I agree with part of what you are saying, and I don't know what set you off.....I respect what you think....but at the same time I'm.....very sad you think this. *dashes off*))
